A Robot Rebels

Knuckles was standing on a hill before a waterfall, Master Emerald shard in hand.

"I was supposed to guard the Master Emerald, but now I only have one piece of it. What's the use of going on? It's over. I failed." he said to himself.

Then he closed his eyes and envisioned Tikal witnessing the Master Emerald shrine engulfed in flames. Then he opened his eyes.

"Standing around feeling sorry for myself won't make things right. I couldn't stop the Master Emerald from being destroyed, but I can gather what's left. I've wasted enough time moping. I'd better get on with the search!" he said and scaled the rocks at the side of the falls.

Outside Thorndyke Mansion the X-Tornado prepared to take off.

"Ready for takeoff, Shadow, Sonic?" Tails asked.

"Ready!" Shadow said and the X Tornado took off.

"I only hope that they'll be able to find Amy. With Eggman and those crazy robots of his, who knows what could happen to her." Chuck said.

"I'm sure Shadow and agent Sonic won't give up until they brings her back here safe and sound." Tanaka said.

"Sure."

"Do you think she's okay?" Cream said.

"Chao chao..." Cheese said.

"Don't you worry, Cream. I'm sure she's just fine." Ella said.

On the X Tornado Tails' head was still bandaged from before.

"You shouldn't try to take on Eggman so soon." Shadow said.

"I feel fine. I can handle him, Shadow." Tails said.

"You're a great pilot, Tails, but me and Sonic better do this alone." Shadow said and opened the door.

"Wait, Shadow. We are a team. We have to figure out where Eggman took Amy. It'll be easier with two of us looking. Amy's probably in danger, and there's no time to lose. Let's all look, Shadow. I know we can find her."

"I guess we do have a better chance working together."

"Right! We're a team!"

"But if you're staying in the plane, how come you're outside?"

"It's more fun to ride the X-Tornado outside in the open air."

"Okay, you better hold on tight."

"Yeah!" Shadow said. "Hold on, Amy. We'll find you."

Sonic was next to him thinking about her, Shadow and Silver being just like that.

Meanwhile Chris and Big were standing on the coastline and Big was casting his fishing line into the ocean.

"Can't you go fishing later, Big? We have to find Froggy fast before Dr. Eggman finds out that he swallowed a Chaos Emerald." Chris said.

"It may not seem like it, Chris, but I know just what I'm doing. Trust me." Big said.

"Okay..." Chris said and saw the X Tornado flying. "The X-Tornado! I hope Tails is okay..."

Meanwhile Amy and Lily were locked in a prison aboard the Egg Carrier, which was now under the ocean.

"Hey! Eggman! Let me out of here!" Amy said but got no reply.

Then she slumped onto the floor.

"Oh, what's the use? I was all set to make Shadow a gourmet meal, but Eggman had to spoil it!" she said and imagined herself displaying a wide variety of foods to Shadow. "I spent weeks practicing all the recipes Ella gave me. I could have made my way into his hear by going right through his stomach." she said. "When Shadow and I start getting close, something always seems to keep us apart." Amy said and Lily responded. "But Shadow always does manage to come through."
