The files Jennifer borrowed from the police station was useless. It was filled with the Will's autopsy report, witness statements from friends and family members of Barb and Will, and photos of the crime scene of where they were last scene.

Jennifer found herself in the back Hawkins High School Library in the corner behind shelves on the floor with her nose in the files. Her backpack was beside her, files scrambled out, and her thumb nail between her teeth. She was studying the files for the tenth time trying to spot anything she did not notice before. There has to be something in these files that can provide some answers.

Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Eleven had their own mission and tasks to accomplish. They all spent the other night reviewing the files. But when nothing new showed up, they moved along to their next clue.

Jennifer wasn't ready to give up. There was something in these files that must help. There has to be.

A pair of shoes appear in front of Jennifer's peripheral gaze and someone clearing their throat broke the silence. She glanced up slowly from her file, following the pair of shoes to a mischievous smirk. Seeing those brown eyes, she groaned and lowered her gaze back to the file seeing the boy she despised.

"Well, well, well, look who it is." Steve smirked raising his bag on his shoulder higher. "Callahan became a nerd with no friends. Can't say I didn't see that coming."

"Can it, Harrington." Jennifer grumbled looking back down at the file.

Steve's smirk widened and glanced down to the file in her hands. His eyes narrowed noticing the 'Confidential' sticker on the file beside her and his eyes glanced to the file in his hands. His lips parted, "Is that-" He mumbled in realization. "Callahan! You can't go stealing police files when you want too." He whispered angrily, glancing around concerned for lurking ears.

Jennifer rolled her eyes and began packing up her things. "I don't have to listen to you." She grumbled stacking the files on top of another and slid them in her textbook to hide them. She rose to her feet and slung her bag on her shoulder, clutching the textbook with the files to her chest.

Steve stepped in front of her to block her only escape. "You could get arrested." He snapped.

"Nothing new." Jennifer smirked up at him.

Steve groaned and rolled his eyes. "Fine. Don't call me to bail you out." He glared.

"Wouldn't dream of it." Jennifer rolled her eyes.

Steve slid his hands in is jacket and exhaled deeply. His posture shifting quickly from anger to hesitancy. He glancing down at the ground anxiously, rocking back on the heels of his shoes. "Have you, um, talked to Nancy?" He asked curiously looking up at her.

Jennifer glared at him. "She has been rather busy with Will and Barb. Give her space." She snapped.

Steve's jaw tightened and his eyes narrowed. "What is your problem? Suddenly I can't be worried for my girlfriend?"

Jennifer scoffed in amusement. "Girlfriend? Please, you're just going to end up hurting her."

"Hurt her?" Steve glared. "I would never hurt Nancy."

Jennifer smirked and tilted her head. "That's what they all say. But I swear, lay a hand on her and I will make you regret it." She warned. She moved to walk past him but Steve being a lot taller and broader, make her shoulder hit his as she moved by. The textbook fell from her hands and fell open to reveal the files.

Jennifer swore under her breath as the photos contained in the files fell out and mixed together. She knelt down to clean it up as Steve stood there, staring at the photos on the ground.
