The Protection

As a kid, I've always known that God drove out Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden because they have sinned. I have since known of God's response to them as punishment, even so as to death.

But when I knew that it was rather God's loving kindness, God, I'm amazed.

God barred Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden to prevent them from eating the fruit of the Tree of Life because after they have eaten of the forbidden fruit, sin came into mankind, making life miserable. If Adam and Eve also happened to eat the fruit of the Tree of Life, they will never die and so will never be able to escape so a miserable life; they will be unsavable.

But with death and Christ's victory over it, mankind's suffering will seem but momentary afflictions compared to an eternity of glory with God.
