The space in which the party happened was the same one to which Jessie had needed to bring the AMPs before.
It seemed a lot smaller now though. The decoration, loads of led stripes, lametta and posters filled the space with the perfect ambience for this christmas party.
It remained unclear why the Christmas party was held in november but as long as the food was good Jessie did not need to complain.
They had tons of homemade cookies and a few pies and cakes.
Everything had some kind of christmassy backdrop.
Some were christmas-tree-shaped, others simply had the color combination of red and green but with the other decoration it did seem like it actually was the 23rd of december.
The slight heart attack that Jessie had gotten earlier because she bad not bought at least one christmas present was real.
The atmosphere really did do something to her. Chris was long gone.
They had vanished the second they entered the space.
The only other familiar face would be Holly's but she was obviously nowhere in slight, it would have been too perfect.
Therefore Jessie had to survive on her own.
It was very stereotypical.
She was standing awkwardly in some kind of makeshift corner, in front of a plant, the buffet not too far away.
The music station mixing thingy control center stood on a pedestal, you could see it from everywhere, Jessie could not see it.
Not because she turned away but because some really big dude decided to stand right in front of her.
He was easily one and a half heads higher than her.
It was even getting darker in her little corner because, lord behold, he blocked the light.
Maybe that was her imagination, but it was really fucking possible and yes she would beat up the person that did not believe her (violence was the answer), therefore we will all collectivly believer that he indeed blocked the light.
Jessie did feel personally attacked that he did not see her. Like, excuse me? (she did indeed not have an argument. she had morphed away, into the plant before so she was hidden. noone would have seen her.)
She still took it personally because now he was talking away her possibility to talk to someone even if she would never ever have done that.
Whatever, she needed to get out of this.
And she would absolutely not ask this guy to move.
This was not her territory.
He could be an ass and even Jessie's strength had a limit when it came to someone this big.
She needed to get out of here without touching him.
Maybe he would leave on his own.
She only had to wait until he needed to go to the bathroom, or to get some food.
What Jessie did not know was that he came from the bathroom and that he held a plate of food.
Therefore she waited.
Chris was also stuck somewhere.
Not because of some giant, but because of this customer that had recognized them and now tried to hold onto them like their last straw.
However Chris really wanted to go home, or to the store, and needed to find Jessie.
The second they saw Holly they left the conversation.
Holly had already passed Chris before turning around and greeting them. Chris did not let her finish her sentence though. They really wanted to fuck off, respectfully of course.
"Have you seen Jessie? I saw her at the buffet the last time but she's nowhere to be found and honestly I'm kinda worried 'cause she's socially incapable. Like even more incapable than me. She can't do social interaction and now she's gone and yeah, have you seen her?"
Holly shook her head, "nope but I'm making my round right now. ya know. Greeting people I so you could join me and we'll look for her, kay?"
Chris smiled, it was their only possibility, and followed Holly.
Surprisingly Chris saw a lot of familiar faces. None of them belonged to Jessie though. There were a lot of people of different heights but this guy, wow, this guy is way huge. Chris did a double-take. This guy was a giant. He could put the decoration on the tip of the christmas tree without a ladder.
"Tex! You're back!"
The giant, Tex, opened his arms and Holly leaped into them. It was a very sweet scene although Chris was a bit worried that Tex would crush her. He lifted her and their size difference became nearly comical. Chris smiled.
