My Son
Itachi's POV
At times I knew my own father wasn't happy with the choices I made as a child. Like getting into the kitchen before dinner and eating candy when he wasn't looking. Or when I got into a fight with another boy who decided to steal my ball in grade school. Even when I brought home a stray dog that turned out to have rabies and had us trapped in our own home for a few hours while animal control tried to get it and ended up putting it down. I know well of the disappointed and poor choices I made as child. As a teen though I did shape up. I learned what was wrong and right. By my families standards. They wanted me to be successful. I was indeed. I studied. I aced my tests and exams and even got a full scholarship to a nice college all before my senior year.
Of course that was when I met my beautiful Naruto.
Now I'm watching my son help someone pick up their fallen items out as if he was programmed to help. It was pretty amazing to see my son do this. A proud moment for a father indeed.
The simple happy smile that came to his lips reminded me of Naruto. How he talked easily with the older generation made me realize that Naruto had taught him manners and it was apparent that both Chou and Naruto were naturals. They were easy to talk to and everyone got along with them. He could already tell Chou would be a heart breaker for either both men and women. Now if Chou had been a little girl he would have a big...GIANT problem with boys and girls coming and try to date his little girl but Chou was a boy. Double standards did suck at times.
But back to the point. It was that my son did take after Naruto. But at other times he did take after me. Like the smirk and when he would act like...a small mini bastard. He knew how exactly to piss of people and he was pretty damn smart and clever. Little punk.
When he was done helping the older woman smiled to him and gave him a piece of candy. She completed me on he had such a well mannered boy and all I could do was nod and wish the older woman a good day.
"Mommy always said that it only takes someone to do one nice thing to make someone else happy." Chou said smiling while eating the candy happily. I couldn't stop the smile that came to my face. Of course Naruto would say that...
Damn...I really do miss him.
"What did your mother teach you?" I wanted to know. I had full faith that Naruto worked hard to raise Chou right. I wouldn't see it any other way. So I listened as we walked around the out lit mall. It was rather big so we had a few stores to see to pick out a gift for Naruto.
"Well the being nice goes along way. To smile even when you're sad because someone could be falling in love with your smile. Never start a fight. It's take someone small to start a fight it takes someone bigger to walk away from it." Chou gleefully told me while I held his hand so he wouldn't get separated. "But he said there was an exception. A fight is only worth fighting if you want to keep something worth saving." He said smiling now and I couldn't help but be interested. "Where did your mother get that?" I had to ask.
"He got into a big fight with Uncle Sasu. Uncle Sasu did something and mommy wasn't happy at all. They ended up fighting and they started to hit each other really hard." Chou huffed softly and I started to feel a little angry. Sasuke was really stupid enough to hit Naruto? That idiot. "But it was weird. After they stopped mommy started laughing and so did Uncle Sasu. They weren't mad anymore. That's why mommy said fight for what's worth it." Again a smile came to my face. Naruto was a natural mother.
"Did you go to school?" I wanted to know all about what I could about my son and what he and Naruto had done for the five years he disappeared. Chou like Naruto was a talker indeed. He spoke about everything he did. What he found really "cool" and what he learned. Even fighting styles. He made various friends in different lands. He spoke a lot of languages though still needed to practice them so he could be fluent. I was very impressed and proud of how much Naruto accomplished with Chou and made me feel like a complete douche bag. Even more so then when I left him.
