Christine's P.O.V
9 months later
I leaned against the door frame, sipping on my hot chai tea while Moira woke up mina. She slowly stroked her forehead while humming.
Such a lovely way to be woken up. I'd choose this over buckets of hungry rats being dumped on you any day.
"You have a very busy day ahead of you." Moira says as Rominas eyes flutter open. She gives a soft smile before covering her mouth and sitting up straight. A yawn escapes her mouth
"Morning guys" She says behind her hand. I wink at her and walk to open the curtains.
"How did you sleep?" I hear Moira's sweet voice. I listen to the sheets pull back and turn to see her standing with Moira standing unusually close. "Fine." Translation, the anticipation kept her up.
Moira gently taps underneath Romina's eyes and I clap my hands together "Head to the bathroom and we'll be back in an hour." I tell her and watch her happily walk away.
I go towards Moria and grab her hand. "Got to back down some mama bear." I say politely
"I know I'm just– The wedding's today!" She squeals, making me laugh as I lead her outside of the room. Further and further away from the already anxious bride to be.
"I promise you, we are all just as excited. We could use your help on other issues though. Like making sure things are properly running?"
"Christine Honey, isn't that your job? I mean– I have to make sure my babies are getting situated. These things only happen once."
This damn woman. If there was any doubt she was Joseph's mother. "Maid of Honor trumps wedding planner" I grit through my teeth, still holding her hand slowly leading her to the terrace.
"Besides, you're hovering and I have permission to do anything necessary to ensure this is a stress free day. So mama bear, you are officially in timeout." I back up and close the door. Hearing a click and blowing a kiss.
I watch her tap the glass and I shrug before turning my back. I began making my way to the other side of the house. Joseph and his dad were staying in the master. A few family members stayed in the other bedrooms. Josephine not being one of them. She and Darryl stayed in the guest house with baby Diana. None of us put of a fight when she offered staying there either. A 14 week old baby on the same floor as the bride and groom? A terrible mix if there was one.
He wanted to be locked in the room away from Romina. It was the one thing he asked of her. To be apart until they no longer had to be.
I knock on the door just once before I reach for the knob and wait for a click. Instead I just see shadows slowly approaching. "Open up asshole." My hand rests on the knob but it's yanked open.
The door opens and it's my old pal Joe. The big one not the lil one one. I freeze. "Christine, that how you speak to your family?" I gasp, reaching my hands out to hold his "Not you papa, great to see you. Good morning." I say all at once as my eyes slowly pan over to a grinning Joseph standing behind him.
"Not a good look. Especially on my wedding day?" Joseph taunts as he walks closer to me. I scoff at the mockery in his voice. "I just came to see how you were making out. You know being kept away and all." I roll my eyes hearing his aggravating voice continue with the childish antics.
"The day I marry your best friend binding us for life–"
"How sweet of you to ask." Joe's voice is louder than Josephs as he is, pinching my cheeks and wrapping his arm around my neck. "Wasn't that sweet of her to ask Joseph?" He turns to ask, making his son sigh in defeat and plop down in a chair. "The sweetest." He mumbles as I smile walking further into the room
