"Are you sure you don't wanna chill with us at the yacht?" Juliana asked."Yeah I'm sure, just enjoy yourselves" I said. I was on a different mission today.
And I also didn't want to lay on a yacht all day, especially not when there was a race to watch.
So today, I walked in the paddock alone, with Jake a few steps behind me.
I didn't like to take him everywhere but unfortunately I had to.But Jake was good, he was professional. Held his distance and gave me my privacy.
Walked in the orange building. No, I definitely didn't ask people where the Mclaren hospitality was.
Immediately wanted to grab a glass of champagne or whatever. As long as it was alcohol, but I stopped as soon I saw the guy I was looking for.
"Hi" he said with a smile. "Hi" I replied.
He just chuckled, probably because he thought I was awkward. "Thought you got invited by Ferrari?"
"Oh you know.." I waved it off. "I got bored there, is it more fun here?"
"Oh definitely" he gestured to follow him. Took me to the paddock club, don't know exactly why?
Maybe he wanted to impress me?
"So if you give me your name then I can put you on the list" he said. Okay, so he was some kind of big shot.
"Daisy" I quickly said. He raised his eyebrow, waiting for me to also tell him my last name.
Maybe I could just give him a fake name?
"Daisy Wolfe!" Someone almost yelled. Okay, so much for giving him a fake name.
"I am Zak, the Mclaren boss" he shook my hand, pretty hard. My hand was almost crushed. "Good to see that Lando is showing you around"
Lando, so that was his name.
And the CEO knew him, so he must be...
I looked around, looked at the pictures and looked back at him.
"You're Lando Norris" I pointed at him. He tilted his head with a smile. "That's me"
"You're their driver" I was still pointing at him. "Yes I definitely am"
I didn't even notice that Zak already walked away, our conversation was too weird I guess.
"And you're a Wolff huh?" He tilted his head. A wolf? What did that mean?
"I-uh-yeah?" I frowned. Was he referring to my last name?
"Too bad" he shrugged. "Guess you don't need me to get free drinks around here then"
"I don't need free drinks-" I shook my head. Did he think I came here to get free drinks?
Fuck that - I could buy myself drinks."Anyways I have to get ready" he interrupted me.
"Okay, good luck out there" I said.
He just chuckled at that before walking away.
Okay, didn't expect that he would have that kind of reaction, but I guess that this was exactly the reason why I didn't want to tell him.
Didn't really want to stay here after that, but it would be a bad look and David would kill me if I left now.
So I stayed, watched the race in the Mclaren garage but left immediately after.
Went to the yacht they rented, or I rented for that matter.
"Did you see my future husband?" Harry laughed.
"No, but I met Lando Norris" and it was horrible.
He grabbed his phone and probably googled Lando. "He's hot, girl"
Unfortunately yes he was.
"Hot and single" Juliana added.
And horrible.
"He literally walked away because I was a wolf"
"A wolf?" Hazel asked. "What does that mean?"
I shrugged.
"Fuck him then" Harry said as he put his phone away. "Let's enjoy this and tomorrow we will be back in LA"
Yes, we had to go back to LA to do interviews, photoshoots and press conferences.
Wasn't looking forward to that.I loved making movies, but I hated everything else. All the paparazzi, rumors, people telling me I was too fat, or too skinny.
Too blonde, too brown, it was never good.Never good enough.
My self esteem was so low, thought it couldn't go any lower but I guess Lando proved that wrong.
