Outfit of the Day
Violet yawned as she watched Riley come into the class wearing a cheerleading uniform and bag of ice, she watched her sit on it and that her made her confused as Lucas looked to Maya "You were supposed to talk her out of this." Her confusion was soon answered as Farkle shook his head "Every year, Riley tries out for cheerleaders" he explained and Zay looked at Riley in disbelief "Oh, Riley, you are no cheerleader." Riley looked to Zay with hurt as she had a lot of confidence in herself "That is a terrible thing to say to me, Zay" she told him and he raised his hands in defense "I meant it as a compliment." Violet looked Riley over and she admired her confidence, she truly did, but she wasn't so sure about trusting her cheerleading abilities. She then looked to Zay with her eyebrows raised "And what do you know about cheerleading" she asked him with curiosity in her eyes, "Back in Texas, Zay had a little incident with a cheerleader" Lucas explained to her and Zay made a face "It wasn't just a little incident. It was true love, but I'm over it now" he started to say before he suddenly screamed "Vanessa!" Maya looked at Cory "Matthews, you're her father. It's your job to talk her out of this" she told him as she believed it was his duty to talk Riley out of cheerleading and he simply smiled at her as he continued his lesson of Thomas Edison "Thomas Edison saw the need for a new kind of light source for the home. See, people relied on kerosene lanterns, and he tried a lot more than six ways to come up with an electric light without success. You know what he said?"
Lucas raised his hand confidence "I have failed!" he said and Cory immediately shot the answer down "No!" to which Lucas defended his answer "Yeah!" Cory shook his head as he quoted Thomas Edison "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that will not work." Farkle pointed as he talked "But Edison finally succeeded. That's why we have light in here" he said as Cory nodded "Because he never gave up." That statement seemed to give Riley her second chance wind as she smiled "And neither should I" she said as Maya smiled sarcastically "Mmm, way to put her back on track, Matthews. Why'd you have to pick today to teach us about Edison?" she said to him. Cory nodded smiling "Yeah, that's something, isn't it?" he said as he looked at Maya, who didn't get it as she looked at him confused "Okay, when we were at home, you didn't want her to do this. Nobody did." Violet looked to Cory in disbelief as she didn't believe that he wouldn't believe in Riley though, she knew that Riley signed up for cheerleading every year and she was right as Cory said "Yeah, because as her father, I've gone through this with her half a dozen times. And it kills me every year." Maya looked to him in disbelief as she hit her desk "Then what are you doing?" she asked him as she was worried about her best friend as Cory looked to Riley "In this room, I'm your teacher."
