To be continued....
"All through history, countries go to war. That's what we normally study in here. But today, we're going to talk about peace and forgiveness and how we get there. Every once in a while, I come up with a good idea" Cory started his lesson and Farkle seemed ridiculed by his words, "What could it possibly be that I haven't already thought of?" he asked. "Farkle, I forgive you" Cory said to him making him confused, "What did I do?" he asked as Zay followed suit, "I forgive you too. Violet laughed at the scene taking place as Farkle yelled "What did I do?!" and Zay could only smirk as he shook his head, "You know what you do." Violet knew what today's lesson was going to be about and she didn't like it as she has never done anyone truly wrong, though it would seem that others needed forgiveness from her. "Ladies and gentlemen, today we're going to begin the forgiveness project. Our history isn't just about what we've done. How we grow comes from the repair of what we've done and how we forgive what was done to us" Cory announced causing Violet to groan as she banged her head against her desk. "Hmm. We're in. What do we do?" Riley said with a smile as she was interested in what her father had to say, "Everyone take out a piece of paper. So this isn't your laptop or your cell phone. You've got unlimited characters here. As many words as you want. The impact will last longer than six seconds. And I guarantee you, it's never going to disappear. So pick up a pen. Express feelings. This is one of the most important things you're ever going to do. You're about to forgive someone" he instructed as he gave every student a red envelope for their letters.
Violet rubbed her forehead before raising her hand and Cory called on her, "Yes Violet" and she looked at him as she felt the eyes of the group on her wondering what she had to say. "What if you have nobody to forgive or want to forgive?" Violet asked him as she had thought about who would she have to forgive and it only led to Riley and Maya as they are the only ones who've ever done her wrong. Cory smiled at her question, "Well then there's a problem because everyone deserves a chance at redemption even if it's hard to do" he told her causing her to nod as she sighed, she knew he was right and that he had a point so she decided that it was the right time to actually start forgiving. "What's this got to do with history, Matthews?" Maya asked as she could feel her heart wanting to write to her father, but she wasn't sure about wanting to forgive him, she also thought about the possibility of writing to Violet asking her for forgiveness as she was tired of their one sided feud. She thought antagonizing Violet would make her feel better about herself, but it hasn't it's only made her feel worse, she was pulled from her thoughts when Cory spoke, "It gives you a chance to change it." Violet looked at the piece of paper swirling her pencil between her fingers as Lucas looked back to her, "You think you're ready to forgive them fully" he spoke quietly to her making her stare at him, "Twinkle toes has been forgiven already, she just hasn't earned my trust back" she said to him.
He nodded, "What about the other one? I know you guys have been through the worse, but you think it's time to bury the hatches with high school around the corner" he asked and she thought to herself about the odds of her genuinely forgiving Maya as she could see herself doing so but not at 100 percent. "I think if she were to ask for my forgiveness it'd make it easier as she's the one that has the feud continuously going as I haven't done anything to her" she told him making him nod again before turning around. "So is there anyone in your life that you want to forgive? Change your history. Go." Cory spoke after he had talked with Riley about forgiving her brother and turned to Maya, "Maya, no one in your life you want to forgive?" he asked and Maya immediately dismissed him, "No." Lucas thought it was the perfect time to speak up, "Don't you think now would be a good time?" he asked her as he knew Maya wanted to be forgiven by Violet, but also he felt that it was time for her to also forgive her father. Maya gave him a stare, she didn't like him butting into her life as she looked over to Riley when she spoke up, "You and your mom are in a good place. You're strong, Maya. Don't you want to forgive him one day? Why not now?" Maya laughed as she began to write and Riley laughs along with her as Maya finished and handed Riley a note. Riley looked at the paper and read "Ahem."Riley, butt out. I am serious. Butt your butt out."" When she finished reading she turned to Maya, "I forgive you" she told her with a smile and placed the paper down on her desk. Violet decided that she would attempt at forgiving Maya and wrote, "Maya, I forgive you for everything that you've done to me even though I have no idea what I've done. Help me understand, I want to understand. I'm tired of this feud when I've been nothing but nice to you. Fix this, you need to fix this" before sealing it up. "I hope you're right about this one Cory" Violet said to him as the bell rang and as she packed up and watched as everyone left the classroom. She clenched her fists and walked up to him, "I don't know if I'm ready, but I trust you" she told him before leaving the classroom just in time to see Lucas and Zay chasing Farkle down the hall.
