aurelia's pov

waking up i immediately notice the pillow wall was demolished in our sleep the guys were all closer to us but not quite touching us. while i wasn't exactly happy with the arrangement made last night i wasn't completely upset, in another lifetime i would've been overjoyed meeting my mates and spending time with them. i pulled astrid closer to me and let her calm me back down, but even that didn't work. i should've never begged her to stay we should kept moving like she wanted, my selfishness put us in this situation now.

looking around the room, i noticed azreal standing by the window his arms behind his back his face turned up like he was in deep thought. i could tell that he was the leader of the group per say, the way he would answer or ask questions, the way he was the last to get into bed. he was their protector and they looked to him to lead, much like how astrid used to look at me. "i know your up mate" azreal said from by the window before turning to look at me.

"how did you know" i asked quietly not wanting to wake anyone else, "your heartbeat mainly but your breathing changed too, what were you thinking about" he questioned coming closer to my side of the bed. i shook my head not wanting to talk about it, before astrid started moving around against my body likely trying to get comfortable again. i kissed her head trying to settle her and it worked.

"you take care of her, more then yourself" he said but it wasn't a question more like a statement he wasn't sure about. "of course i do, i love her" i said my voice low but my tone was sharp. azreal just nodded and rubbed my leg, "we can take care of each other you don't have to do it alone anymore, trust me i know how tiring it is not letting someone in to help" he said his eyes sad but i couldn't really tell in this light. i shook my head "i told you guys last night you have to let us go, i won't put anyone else in danger and i won't let anyone take astrid from me" i said as i noticed zander stir little.

"and like we told you last night, yall are not leaving us ever again. we need you just as much as you need us don't be stubborn" my eyes started to burn with tears, "you don't understand azreal and im not asking you to, the first moment we get to run we will take it no matter how much we like you" i said my voice firm. azreal nodded slowly "then i guess we can never let you two out of our sights can we" he said his sigh deep as he laid down on side of me. "tell me to move and i will" he said inching closer.

i wanted to tell him to fuck off and leave us but my heart and my brain were too conflicted so instead i just said "i thought you were gonna be a gentlemen on your scouts honor" i said a small smirk on my face not that he could see it. "i won't do anything you don't want me to do beautiful, now i know your tired so close your eyes and go back to sleep" he said and suddenly my eyes felt low. i wanted to tell him to hold me until i fell asleep but i couldn't allow myself to get attached not when i knew we would soon leave so i kept my mouth shut as he laid beside us.

waking up once more, i could tell it was late morning my body felt so energized, i haven't slept that long and so good in forever. "finally awake princess" the bain of my existence said. "i thought i told you to stop calling me that andrés" i said and his smirk dropped from his face as a look of longing took its place but as quickly as it was there it was gone. "i'll call you what i want princess" he said his familiar smirk back on his face. i sat up as best as i could with astrid plastered to my front. i noticed azreal still asleep next to me very close but not close enough to be touching me.

i felt my face soften as he snored lowly, "yea he doesn't sleep often, always looking out for the group" andrés said to me. i had nothing to say, since i could relate to him. i looked over to see zander up and doing workouts in the corner of the room with dustin and kaiden. astrid started to move a little in her sleep so i just smoothed her hair out and leaned down to kiss her forehead, what i did woke her up instead of keeping her asleep. "good morning lia" she said her voice light like tinkerbell, i smiled as my face softened again.
