The Class D students were noisily talking, enjoying their long break when the representative of Class A, Katsuragi, entered their classroom along with a few more Class A students.

"Who is the class representative of Class D?" Katsuragi asked, getting straight to the point.

Unsure, the Class D students looked at each other, unsure of the answer to that question.

"Uhh, Hirata-kun is the representative, I think!" Maya said, to which a few of the girls nodded.

"Or maybe Sakura-chan? We won the island special exam thanks to her," Chiaki suggested, which caused the boys in turn to agree.

Sakura felt like sweat-dropping. They really needed to get their class in order.

"It doesn't matter, I suppose," Katsuragi said at last. "The most important thing in this special exam will be the participation table you submit. As long as it doesn't collide with Class A's, everything should be fine."

A few Class D students started muttering. Chabashira-sensei had told them that they'd have to write down who would be participating in which matches before the special exam, but the importance of that information escaped more than a few of them.

There was, of course, a huge risk that if an enemy class found out the contents of their participation table, they could create their own to counter that and get as many points as possible.

Of course, there was a way out - a class could substitute one student, but the price was too high to even consider such a thing. 100,00 private points. It was becoming increasingly clear to Sakura that private points were vital at this school.

Katsuragi continued talking about the importance of Class D taking the exam seriously, but Sakura had eyes for one person only.

Hatake was there, leaning on the doorframe to their classroom, his eyes scanning the classroom and the gathered Class D students in interest. Deciding to make use of the distraction of her classmates by Katsuragi, she quietly made her way over to him.

"Hey there, Hatake," she greeted him, making him turn his head to look at her.

"Yo," he said coolly, his eyes questioning.

"Looks like we'll be working together, huh?" She said conversationally, but he just hummed.

Too bad for him. She felt an unexplainable urge to talk to him, so she'd continue bothering him.

"What do you think of the exam so far?" She asked, the open-ended question forcing him to answer.

"It's not as open to strategizing and scheming as the other exams. The rewards are nice enough, but the exam itself seems boring," he told her, which made her frown.

"Huh? Does that even matter?" Sakura asked, not quite understanding his thought process. "As long as it shifts the class points, then I'm grateful for it," she explained.

Maybe that was precisely why he cared more about the exam not being fun than about the class points it gave though; because he was in Class A, and for him, it'd be ideal if the class points didn't change at all.

"Sure, I understand that. I don't really care about that too much, you know? I am more interested in seeing what Ryuuen will do. My gut tells me he's got a plan," Hatake revealed.

Sakura nodded in agreement. She thought the same. Ryuuen was exactly the type of person to think of a sly plan even in these circumstances.

"I'm a bit hurt, though. You only ever talk to me about school, Sakura-chan," Hatake said suddenly, which made Sakura freeze.
