In no time, the first of June rolled around, and all of the students from class 1-D waited with bated breaths for the month's class point results to come in. When Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom, everyone's eyes were on her instantly.

"Good morning, everyone. You all seem more restless than usual today," she said just as the bell rang. Ike wasted no time to ask about what'd been bothering him.

"Sae-chan-sensei! Do we have zero points again this month?! When I checked this morning, I didn't see a single point deposited into my account!"

Everyone clearly shared the sentiment as well, some students were already looking defeated, thinking that the class didn't receive points after all and that they were doomed to stay at 0 class points for the rest of their student lives.

"You're correct, Ike. You have all worked harder than ever before. I recognize that, and so does the school. Well then. Without further ado, here are this month's point totals."

She put up a paper on the board. On it were values for each class. Class A had 1024 points, which put them over the starting amount. What captured Sakura's attention, however, was Class D.

They no longer had 0 points. Instead, the number 87 was written next to their class.

Slowly, Sakura raised her hand. "Sensei, if we have 87 class points, how come we haven't received our private points?"

She could tell the other students were wondering as well.

"Well, this time there was a little trouble. The first-year-students' point distribution has been delayed. I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait a bit longer," she said, causing a bit of an uproar.

"What! But shouldn't we get a compensation from the school, then? It's their fault, right?" Ike shouted, his protests joined by some of the other students who were dependant on their points. Sakura could see Kei looking quite mad as well.

"This was the school's decision, there's nothing I can do about it. Once the trouble has been resolved, you'll receive your points. If there are still points left, that is."

Huh, that sounded like something more happened rather than the school making a blunder. Either way, Sakura was more focused on the point increase. Private points didn't affect her that much. She had about 2,000 left now which was very little, but she was used to getting by without them.

So it was possible to raise their class points and catch up to Class A! Well, maybe catching up to them was a bit optimistic, especially if the only way to increase their points was through the mid-terms. There was no way Class D would ever outrank Class A in anything academic-related.

However, Sakura didn't think this would be the only way to earn points. The school did have in its motto that its goal was to raise and develop fine individuals that would lead Japan into the future, and that they didn't believe that included only academically gifted students, right?

If that were the case, people like Sudo would never have passed the exams.

The class was dismissed, Chabashira-sensei once again not quite explaining to them what was going on.

Now that Sakura knew that she did have at least some hope in chasing after Class A, she decided she'd find out. If this incident Chabashira-sensei spoke of ended up costing them their first class points, she'd rather find a way to prevent that if possible.

Who knew, maybe those measly 78 points could end up being a deciding factor to whether Class D would overtake Class A in the end.

Time was of essence, and Sakura planned not to waste any of it. Today, she'd be making her first move.
