Their group wasn't the only group trying to get Sakura Airi to witness.
Kei 💚: Guys!!! Kushida approached me about the case. She saw me hanging out with Sakura-san and asked if it was about the case!!
Hirata ⚽: Really?? How did she know??? Does Kushida-san know that Sakura Airi-san is the witness? Wait, she's also on the case, right? She was asking the upper years if they saw the fight, too! We should talk to her.
Me: Oh that's right! Wait, Kei have you gotten anywhere with Sakura Airi-san so far???
Hatake 🙄: Stop spamming.
Me: Then mute the group, dumbass
Kei 💚: Stop flirting and listen!! >:( Kushida told me that she and her group were also trying to solve the case, they could help if we merge with them
The betrayal stung...
Hirata ⚽: We should. That way, we'll help Sudo-san in no time.
And just like that, they ended up merging groups with Kushida's group consisting of Ike, Yamauchi, Ayanokoji and Sudo himself. Whether Horikita was on their side or not was unclear, but apparently she'd been the one who tipped them off that the witness was Sakura Airi.
Honestly, Sakura regretted merging their groups. Ike and Yamauchi were downright disgusting. She'd almost punched them in the face when they openly leered at a girl from Class A who according to them was "very blessed" and "a 9/10". That, and their infatuation with Kushida was disgusting and embarrassing. How Kushida didn't realize was beyond Sakura.
"Frowning doesn't suit you, Haruno," Hatake snapped her out of her thoughts. Oh, she hadn't realized she was frowning. Sometimes, it couldn't b helped.
"You're okay with listening to that?" she pointed towards Ike and Yamauchi, who were talking to Ayanokouji and Sudo all about the dreams they had about Kushida.
"No, but I expected it. They are in Class D after all," Hatake grinned, making Sakura smack him.
"Jokes about my class are off the table, dumbass," she scolded him. "Anyway, I have better things to do. Let the others take care of Sakura Airi-san, we need a more solid plan to completely clear Class D. Hey, you're free now, are you not?"
He was rubbing the back of his neck where she'd hit him with a frown. "Um, yes?"
"Let's go to the hallway where the fight happened, I want to check something."
He didn't say anything, so she headed over to the third floor where the chemistry lab was, Hatake following a distance behind her.
Once she reached the place, she started searching the walls and ceiling.
"Haruno, what are you doing?" Hatake asked, but Sakura ignored him. Was there really nothing there?
That's when she saw it. There, on the ceiling in a dark corner that was so dark that it almost wasn't visible, was a tiny camera.
"Look! There, that's a camera! That means the school has video footage. They have to review it if we request it. Why they haven't done so already is beyond me - maybe once again they are intentionally ignoring this evidence and leaving it up to the students - but if we tell them we know there's a camera, they have to review it, right?" Sakura said excitedly. Suddenly, she took out her phone and took a photo of the camera.
Hatake, however, didn't look happy at all. He especially didn't look happy after she took a picture of the camera.
"Uhm, let's maybe not do that," he said carefully. She thought he might be frowning, although his mask hid everything but his eyes.
