The universe contains and infinite amount of worlds. The one I live in is filled with beings we call angels who are the ultimate healers of the universe, immortals with supernatural abilities, and sorcerers who wield magic. They are a strange mix, but live in harmony, most of the time. The woman who gave birth to me is an angel. She has long golden hair and flawless fair skin that possesses a soft glow. Her most prominent feature is her pure snow white wings, but it is her eyes that I cannot stand. They hold so much love and kindness when she looks at me, the pathetic fool does not understand that I do not love her, never will love her. Darius Light, my father, is a powerful immortal, the strongest of them all, and their leader. He’s a kind mind, but not a fool and knows not to trust me. If it weren’t for him, I would have put an end to Delilah by now, my mother. I resemble him the most physically, midnight black hair, strong built, tanned skin, but excluding the eyes. While his are a deep ocean blue, mine are a murderous blood red.
I was not always this way. I use to be capable of love, kindness, compassion. I remember having a pure heart as a child, but the memories are faded, eventually time will erase that part of me completely. The clearest memory I still posses is one of an eagling. I was out exploring by a river near a cliff when I found him. The eagling had fallen from its nest nearly a thousand feet high. I don’t know how he had survived the fall. Almost every bone in his body was broken. He looked at me with fearful, pain stricken eyes, but I absorbed his fear and pain. I spoke to him gently, “Don’t fear me little eagle, I only wish to help you, look into my eyes and you’ll see I’m pure at heart.” The creatures in my land are highly intelligent and can sense mal intentions. He looked into my ocean blue eyes and relaxed when he found that the words I spoke rang true. I was only 6 years of age, but had already mastered the healing ability I inherited from Delilah. It only took me a matter of minutes to heal him completely. He screeched in joy and smiled, it was an odd sight to see an eagle smile being they were fierce creatures; I couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. I befriended the wild creature and would visit it often. After a year he was a full grown adult, a towering 7 feet tall. The creatures in my land are abnormally large. I haven’t seen him since the day I was changed. He knows better than to come near me, surely sensing the evil within me. If I get the chance, I’ll kill him too, he should have died that day by the river, imprudent animal.
I lost my ability to heal when I lost my ability to love. It’s my curse. To be honest, it is not a great lost, not a lost at all. Love makes you weak and irrational, like Delilah. I have been planning her demise for some time now, and she dies tonight. I will use her weakness against her, her love for me. She has this ridiculous notion that someday her love for me will be strong enough to break the curse. It is a nuisance, those aggravating loving eyes. It will be a relief to watch the love fade from them as her life drains away.
