Thankfully, the weekend is over, and you're back at school.
Satoru has your mind all over the place, and it's been hard for you to focus on anything but him.
It doesn't help that you've never had any type of interaction like that your whole life, and you hate that you yearn for more. You've always been focused on one thing. School. And that's to make your parents proud.
Pulling your phone out, you find your mom's contact and call her. It rings for a bit and you look down, stopping in your tracks and feeling she won't answer again. Pulling the phone away from your ear, you hear her voice and push it to your ear once more. "Mom?"
"Hey. Is something wrong?" She asks.
You haven't heard her voice in so long. "No, I'm okay. I just wanted to call. I miss you."
"Oh, honey." Her voice softens. "You'll be able to see us during Christmas break. Do you have any plans for Halloween?"
"Um...I don't think so, not yet anyway." You answer, looking up and seeing Satoru on the other side of the glass, where the library is. "I'm getting more comfortable here though."
She goes silent for a moment, and you make sure she hasn't ended the call. "Mom?"
Satoru walks up to a girl, leaning down and kissing her passionately. You feel your chest tighten at the sight of them. What is this feeling? You don't even know him, you met two days ago.
"I'm going to have to call you back later, okay? Your dad is calling me." You understand.
"Okay, I love you." The call ends and you continue to hold the phone up to your ear for a moment as Satoru looks up and spots you standing there outside of the library.
You pull the phone down, lock it, and put it back in your pocket before heading home for the rest of the day.
—
Stepping into the dorm, you take notice of the music playing lightly in Nayeli's room. You walk over to the couch and put your bag down. "Nayeli?" You call out while walking into the small kitchen.
She comes out of her room with a huge smile on her face. "Guess what!?" She's very happy.
"What?" You smile softly as she grabs onto your arm.
Her eyes are bright. "Suguru asked me out on a date tonight! Can you believe it?" She's jumping up and down.
Your lips curve into a smile. "Would you believe me if I said I saw that one coming?"
Playfully, Nayeli pushes you. "It doesn't even feel real. Will you help me pick out an outfit?"
For the next hour, you help her find an outfit to wear and then suddenly you're alone. She warned you that she may not be home later, and to not wait up for her.
So you're staring at the TV wondering what to eat, or if you should eat anything for that matter. You don't have much money, so it's not like you can order anything.
Your phone goes off and you glance at it, seeing an unknown number. Picking up the phone, you click on the number to see Satoru's name at the top of the unsaved contact.
For a moment you stare at it, debating if you should text him back. And you toss the phone to the side. You're not going to waste your time on it.
—
You're exhausted and can barely stay awake but there's a knock at the door that startles you.
Sighing, you get up and walk over to the door, opening it up. And your eyes widen when you realize that it's Satoru.
He doesn't say anything as he tries to walk in, but you shut the door slightly, stopping him. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but I don't have time for it. I'm tired and honestly, I should go to bed."
"There's no way you're upset about what you saw today." Satoru scoffs, shaking his head while looking off to the side.
You furrow your brows. "Are you serious? Again, you don't know me or what's going on in my head. So just leave me alone. It's tiring." You're not sure how you felt about what you saw earlier today. It was also bad timing, considering your mother had just hung up on you. "I just so happened to see you there. What's the big deal about it? I don't care."
Satoru puts his hand on the door. "You're home alone. Let me keep you company." Carefully, he pushes it open and walks inside the dorm.
Sighing, you shut the door and walk back over to the couch, sitting down.
He takes his jacket off and hangs it up on the coat rack, strolling over to join you on the couch.
You don't even bother looking at him. You just want to ignore his presence.
Satoru is looking at you through the corner of his eye. What the hell is he even doing here? Why did he come? To bother you? He doesn't even know why. All he knows is that he knew you'd be here alone and Nayeli wouldn't be coming home tonight. Eventually, he looks at the TV.
"Would you like a bottle of water?" You ask while standing, heading into the kitchen.
"No, I'm good, thanks." He says, watching you walk.
Opening the door to the refrigerator, you lean down and grab a water bottle from the bottom drawer.
You go back to the couch and sit down more comfortably, opening the water and taking a sip of it.
He seems so at ease, lounging on the couch as if he belongs there. It's both frustrating and intriguing how effortlessly he's invaded your space.
As you sit in silence, the tension between you and Satoru is palpable.
Finally, unable to bear the silence any longer, you turn to look at Satoru.
"Why did you come here?" You ask softly, breaking the silence that had settled between you.
Satoru hesitates for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, with a sigh, he runs a hand through his hair and meets your gaze head-on. "I don't know." He admits.
You stare at him, desperately trying to understand. And suddenly, you just feel angry.
"Why don't you know?" You snap, your frustration bubbling over. "You can't just barge into someone's home without a reason, Satoru. I don't want to play games with you."
Satoru's jaw tightens, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features. He leans back against the couch, his gaze never leaving yours. "I don't know, okay? Maybe I just wanted to see you."
You shake your head, irritated. "You're so confusing, it's giving me a fucking headache. The first time we meet, you were a dickhead to me. Then I wake up the next day in bed with you, confused and then you don't even bother to explain yourself, or look at me for that matter. Same day, I get home and you're in my room, and then...I don't even know what was going to happen, and you just leave. Then I see you with some girl at school and now you're here."
"I know I'm a dickhead." He shrugs. "I just wanted to see you."
A mix of emotions swirls inside of you. "You're not making any sense. Why do you feel the need to see me? What do you want?" You're genuinely confused.
His attitude changes suddenly and he stands up, his jaw clenched. "You're annoying."
Ouch. "I'm annoying? You're the one that is continuously bothering me. Just get out, I don't have time for this shit." You stand up, looking up at him.
For a moment, neither of you say anything, the tension crackling in the air between you.
He's not used to this at all.
His mouth opens to say something but closes it when he's at a loss for words, stepping forward and grabbing your face, pressing his lips against yours.
