Sukuna is sitting across from you as you scroll on your phone, trying to find a costume for an upcoming Halloween party this upcoming weekend. You have two whole days to figure something out.
You let out a sigh. "I have 2 days to come up with an outfit and so far, I'm out of luck."
He watches you with an amused look. "Just a put a cute little outfit on and add a little blood and there you go. Simple."
"I don't think cute and blood really go together." Your lips curve into a smile as you reply. "What are you going as by the way?"
Sukuna wiggles his brows in excitement. "I'm going as a plague doctor."
"Oh? Whatever that is." You stand up from the chair and walk into the kitchen. "Sounds intriguing though."
"The outfit itself is well put together. It's perfect for halloween spirit." Sukuna chuckle as he then stands up and follows you into the kitchen, watching as you rummage through the cabinets for a snack. "Would you like for me to help you with your costume?"
You stop for a short second, glancing at him. "We'll see. I think I'll go with what you suggested. Besides I don't care enough about the party to go all out."
Sukuna's eyes gleam mischievously, leaning against the kitchen counter as he grins. "I think you should care about this party. Who knows what kind of trouble we could get ourselves into."
His words send a shiver down your spine and you brush it off with a causal laugh.
"I saw Satoru today on the way over here. He was out with some girl it seemed. Poor girl." He says, pushing off the counter and opening the fridge door, grabbing a water bottle.
You freeze in your spot at the mention of his name. Why would Sukuna tell you that? Why would it matter? "It's none of my business who Satoru decides to spend his time with."
His eyes burn holes in your back as you turn away from him. "Anyway...I'm heading home for the night. I'll see you in class tomorrow."
Without saying another word to him, you turn slightly, watching as he grabs his jacket and leaves the dorm room. What the hell is he trying to do?
Later on that night, you're lying in bed trying to shake off his words. It shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter. So why keep thinking about it?
The entire dorm is quiet, Nayeli sleeping over at Suguru's for the night, leaving you here alone.
There's a soft knock at the door, catching you off guard. You lie there for a second, hoping for them to go away, whoever it may be. But there's another knock and you throw the comforter to the side and slide out of bed, walking to the front door and opening it slightly.
Meeting those familiar blue eyes, you swallow hard. "What are you doing here?"
"I...can I come in?" He asks in a casual tone.
Though you should shut the door in his face and leave it be, you open it wider for him to enter. And as he does you shut it behind him and cross your arms, staring at him as you wait for him to turn around to face you.
Satoru takes a look around the room before his gaze finally settles on you as he turns.
There's a tension in the air, thick with unresolved emotions.
"Talk or leave." You say with a stern tone.
He takes a step forward. "I'm a huge fucking idiot, I know. And I'm sorry for just ghosting you after the night of the party. I've tried keeping my distance from you, in hopes to make this go away for good, but it does me no ounce of good. Every time I see you with Sukuna...it just makes my blood boil. I want what's best for you."
You stare into his eyes. "Why would you care?"
Satoru's shoulders drop and he lets out a breath, running a hand through his messy white hair while he glances off to the side.
You're confused but then your eyes widen slightly. Is he serious?
As he looks at you again, he notices the hint of realization in your eyes and he's almost relieved he doesn't have to say it aloud.
But you remain silent.
"Fuck, because I care about you." Satoru finally confesses. "More than I want to."
"That's not fair. You can't just show up after all of that just to tell me you care about me. Do you...care, Satoru?" You shake your head, your head falling forward. "How am I supposed to really know that? And while we're at it, why?"
Satoru nods. "I know and I'm sorry. I realized this when we were talking at the pool together. It hit me when we were talking in the pool. There was a connection and that's just not something I'm used to. You speak to me with such sincerity, and it brings me a sense of peace. You have to understand that this isn't something I'm very familiar with."
"How am I supposed to know that you won't change your mind tomorrow? Or feel a different way?" You ask seriously, your lips falling into a frown as you look up at him.
He takes another step closer and grabs hold you of carefully, searching your eyes your any sort of understanding. "I'll go if that's what you want?"
You close your eyes, trying to collect your thoughts. "Don't go."
Satoru is glad to hear your answer and he smiles.
As your eyes open, they then close shortly after as his lips brush against yours impatiently, kissing you tenderly as he pours all his pent-up emotion and longing into that one moment.
