Chapter 3

Chris' POV

She really is a silly girl. Silly in a sense that she even harmed herself because of giving me surprise-visits. She could have told me that she wants to see me. Look what happened. Thank God my parents are here, or else I don't know how to help her.

I don't know how, but she's really funny even without putting any effort to make me laugh. I really don't know why she's doing all of these foolishness either.

So here I am right now, waiting for the doctor to come out, finally I can see her condition already. I immediately entered her room and sat on the chair beside her bed. She looks fine even if she's in hospital clothes.

This is the first time that I laid my eyes on a sleeping Zyra. I never knew she had an eyelashes same as mine. I noticed also that there are a lot of microscopic moles occupying her pinkish cheeks. And that rosy-colored lips she had, isn't artificial. Wait, why am I looking at her like this?

Oh well she's beautiful actually. I just realized it now. I can't help but smile to the idea that she was bitten on the act of surprising me. She really is a silly girl.

I can't wait for her to wake up. Hhhmmm, I think it's better if I take a picture of her first. HAHA right! So I'm holding my phone right now and carefully taking the opportunity while it's there.I've already took 10 images of different angles but I think it's not yet enough. I need to take more.

I guess 50 sleeping selfies are enough already. It's not that much right?

It's been an hour but she isn't conscious yet. Is she really cured by the anti-rabies medicines injected into her body? I'm afraid what will happen if she's not gonna wake up after another hour of waiting. I felt like I have the need to make her comfortable the moment she comes back to life. I need to pray for her.

As I was busy thinking of the things I need to do for her recovery, my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Where are you? Why aren't you here yet?"

"I am in a hospital. Just helping out a friend."

"Hospital? Okay. But you must know that we will be having a design project by partner. The one who's output is the best will have an exhibit sponsored by the department. I was thinking to ask you as my partner but I'm already paired with someone in here because you're absent. I know we've been the usual partners but I guess it's about time to open new doors."

"It's fine. I can go all by myself. You don't have to worry. I'm good at this."

"You sure you're okay with it? Alright then, I'm still in class. Goodbye."

"Bye."

Such a bad news for my day actually. Oh well, I'm used to be alone so I know I can get through this project and be the best Larch I can be.

"Chris?"

A weak voice called my name and the moment I turn around,

"Zyra? You're awake. Wait! Just a minute. Stay right there okay? I'll call a nurse."

I began to panic because I was surprised that she woke up. I didn't expect it to be this fast. God is really good. Thank you for listening to my prayer. I promise, I will do my part as what I have promised you in return for her awakening.

The nurse operated something in the wires connected to her body. I'm not really sure what are those things called but I'm pretty sure they were very useful for her recovery. The nurse instructed me to assist the patient as she made her way out of the room. And so, I held her elbow gently, took her with me and walked slowly.
