Chapter 9
Rolph's POV
Have you ever felt that feeling when you're supposed to get angry because someone vomited in your pants, but instead of scolding her, you even have the energy to laugh?
"Hey, thanks. For laughing at me." Zyra entered my room and returned the towel I used last night to cover her. She sat beside and unusually smiled at me.
"So what really happened last night?" She asked. I took my camera and gave it to her.
"Everything's recorded there. All I have to do is narrate the story." She grabbed it and quickly pressed play. And so I started narrating.
"Last night after the church event, I kept searching for you, but you're nowhere to be found. I don't know why you kept running away from me. You didn't even tell me that you're going to the event too. But it's okay. Who am I to know your whereabouts right? So, as I arrived home, I still searched for you but you're not in your room. I noticed that the sky's so adorable so I decided to wait for you outside and took a video of the sky for the mean time. As I was standing outside your building, I heard noises above. So I went to check it out, and then it led me to the rooftop where you're surprisingly staying. That's where I knew that you're the noise maker. You kept drinking that brandy. I came closer and sat beside you. I looked at you and I'm happy because you're already home. But I don't understand why you're drowning yourself with alcohol. I guess you're going through something, so I stayed and watched over you. You pulled me closer and positioned your head on my shoulder. Out of the blue, you told me that you have a crush on Chris. You told me everything about your feelings for him, and I kept listening from the beginning until the end."
She looked embarrassed after hearing what I said and clicked pause.
"You're not making fun of me right?" She said. I gave her the look that says 'I'm not finish yet'. Good thing she understood and clicked continue. And I still narrated the next part.
"After hearing that crush thing, you took another gulp of brandy and burped in front of my face. Ugh, I hate recalling the smell of your alcoholic mouth. You embraced me afterward. And told me that you like me. You even compared me to a circus. That every time you saw me, your world's spinning around, joining the rhythm of your emotions. And you added that as you stayed near me, living in my kingdom, you're like the happiest princess in the whole universe. You took your embrace, touched my face and, and..."
I couldn't say the word. There was silence in the room. Zyra is still glued to the video with a pale face. I observed her as I took my silence. After watching, the camera slipped from her hands and fell over the pillow. She faced me with a tear in her eye. She came closer and embraced me.
"I'm sorry. I'm very sorry for taking away your first kiss. I didn't mean it. You know I was drunk that time and I'm not aware of my actions. Please forgive me for misbehaving Rolph. Ugh, why am I even born this way?" She released me from her arms and faced the floor afterward.
"If you're uneasy of the fact that your first kiss is from a drunk person like me, you're free to forget it and pretend it never happened." She faced me with a smile and stood up.
"I'll go ahead now. I still have to work." She brushed my hair with her fingers and took a few steps away from me. But before she can get out of my room, I stood up and followed her. I grabbed her arm as quickly as I can and slowly grabbed her body close to mine. I embraced her like the way she embraced me last night. I'm like a koala bear clinging to her at the moment. "Do you really like me?" I asked her but she didn't answer.
