swam in a flood

it wasn't chains,
but gathered rain.
i didn't want to realize,
that i wasn't paralyzed.

a part of me wanted to stay,
it seemed peaceful just to lay.
a part of me wanted to see behind the fog,
how everything will be if i climb above.

i lived with roots pulling me to stay.
i worked hard just to see the day.
i wasn't born to be underneath.
every part of me was all i needed.

i was used to mourn someone alive,
not until i saw the sunrise.
i dugged something underground,
it was the day i was found.
