It has been days since my first day of classes at Hogwarts. Since then, my relationship with the Slytherins has gotten...worse? It is hard to tell. Some like to harass and bully me for being a blood traitor like Parkinson and a handful of upperclassmen. Then, there are Slytherins who completely ignore my existence. And finally, there are the rare few like Theo, Zabini, Daphne, and Malfoy who are kind of okay with associating with me.

Theo is the most genuine and consistently polite to me. I have seen him at parties, and we have exchanged small talk. However, we are not exactly friends yet. Although, I am hopeful that we can become friends now that we're on a first name basis. Our favorite subjects to talk about are traveling and quidditch. He is funny and charming. Although, he is still a typical sarcastic Slytherin. And first and foremost, he is Zabini's best friend.

Zabini is similar to Malfoy because he is a complete snob about blood status and wealth. He is not as open about it, but I can tell from all of our brief business-like interactions. He will crack a joke or two, but he is never too friendly with me. We only talk about quidditch, schoolwork, or drama.

On the other hand, Daphne can be genuine. However, she is extremely hot and cold. She constantly worries about what other Slytherins think. So Daphne and I usually talk when we are alone in our dorm. Occasionally, Daphne will speak to me during meals or in class. Her behavior is annoying, but she is fun to talk to when she is genuine.

Then there is the platinum-blonde prick. The first impression I received from Malfoy at my birthday party did not last. He is the worst of the Slytherins that speaks to me. Especially after he realized I was friends with Hermione. In almost every conversation, he sneaks in a stupid remark about my blood status. I do not want to talk to him, but he is persistent in teaching me his blood purist ways. Thus, Malfoy is always is always staring at me, plotting his next move to convert me into a piece of shit like him. I swear he makes me want to tear the necklace he gave me to shreds. Although I could never throw the necklace out, it is too expensive. Of course, I could buy another, but that is such a snobbish thing to do. And I sure as hell do not want to end up like any of my awful and privileged housemates.

At mealtimes, I force myself to try to get to know the Slytherins. However, most of the time, I hang out with Hermione and Cedric. Hermione and I spend a lot of time studying. We do a lot of extra reading and practice advanced spells. And when we cannot get a spell right, we turn to Cedric to tutor us. If Cedric is not tutoring Hermione and me, we talk about quidditch and pass around a quaffle. However, Cedric does not spend too much time with me since he has his cool third-year friends.

Hermione and I prefer to be in the library but sometimes Slytherins like to come in and harass us. Those snakes forced us to find different study spots: the Gryffindor common room or the courtyard if the weather permits.

Despite her tendency to be a know-it-all, I love spending time with Hermione because she gets me. I guess it is because we both have a lot to prove. Still, she can be way more focused on grades than I am. Thus, I force her to go on little adventures around the castle to get a break. Together, we have visited many places around the school. My favorite was the glass cabinet of the old Hogwarts Quidditch teams. There, we saw various awards celebrating my father. We also spotted Harry Potter's dad on a couple things. During our adventures, we have spoken to countless living portraits and ghosts. Myrtle is our favorite because she is around our age. She is very relatable, gossiping and talking about cute boys with us. It is a nice to take a break from school and fool around with Hermione.

All while this is happening, the rest of the Slytherins are catching wind and seeing Hermione and me around the castle. In retrospect, my friendship with Hermione is why they hate me so much, but she is a better friend than any of them could ever be.
