Chapter 1- Promise me

After they left the station:

Tim) "Way to pull off the fourth-quarter win."

Lucy) "thanks"
She says quickly

Tim) "What?"

Lucy) "Nothing"

Tim doesn't believe her and grabs her left arm to stop her.

Lucy) "Nothing!"

Tim) "This isn't gonna work if you're gonna lie to me."

Lucy puts her head down and back up

Lucy) "Fine... Did you undermine me today because you're scared that I'm gonna make detective?"

Tim is puzzled

Tim) "What? No."

Lucy) "Tim--"

Tim) "No, And I'm upset you'd even think that."

Lucy) "Look, I don't know. Maybe it wasn't deliberate. Maybe it was subconscious."

Tim laughs dryly

Tim) "So--so now you're accusing me of being unaware of my actions?!
That--that's not better."

Lucy) "You have to admit that what happened with Isabel was deeply traumatic for you."

Tim) "I've never not admitted it. I admitted it the first day we met, okay? So the only thing I did today was have your back. But i-if you can't see that then..."

Tim shakes his head while Lucy has tears welling up in her eyes

Tim) "You know what? I'm tired. You've got studying to do. So let's just take the night off. All right? I'll see you tomorrow."

Tim starts to head back to his truck
While Lucy starts to follow after him

Lucy) "Tim..wait I-"

Moves to 1st person pov--

BANG

What just happened? All the sudden I can't feel myself. It's like my whole body went cold and I quickly fall to the ground

Tim turns around back at me and rushes to my side.

Tim) "LUCY... It's okay you're gonna be okay!"

It then clicks in my brain when Tim starts glancing around for a shooter. I just got shot..

Tim's pov:

No... I rush over to Lucy and hold her in my lap while putting pressure on her gunshot wound on her stomach.

I look around to make sure the shooter is long gone and he was.
No one else was around so I rushed my phone out from my pocket and dialed 911

"911, what's your emergency?"

Tim) "Officer down.. L-lucy chen. P-please help. Outside of station back right door.. g-gunsho..t woun-d"

I say with my voice cracking as I hang up

Lucy) "T-timm"

Tim) "Shh just focus on breathing you're gonna be okay.."

I say as I cradle her

The more and more she bled out the more my worry grew

I tried to be strong for her but I failed. The tears kept streaming down my face and they wouldn't stop

Lucy) "I-I'm sorry.. f-for arguing.. I was wrong and I-i hope you can forgive m-me"

She said as she struggled
