Chapter 5 - How'd I get so lucky?

Lucy's pov:

I grunted as Tim tried to help me into my apartment by wrapping his arm around me, but didn't realize that his hand was right beside my gunshot wound

Tim) "Crap Lucy I'm sorry I didn't mean to hold you there"

He then moved his arm lower to my waist

I smiled at him
Lucy) "It's okay it's easy to forget"

He leads me to my bedside and sits on the bed beside me, rubbing my hair.

Tim) "Are you sure the Doctors didn't let you out too soon?.. I just wanna make sure you're alright to move on your own and everything.."

I shrugged

Lucy) "Oh well..I don't know they *might've* let me out a smidge earlier then they had planned but I needed to be home! I spent way to long in there"

Tim's pov:

I slightly shook my head while still smiling at her. And then got up from the bed

Tim) "Well I know it's only six or seven but you've had a long few days.. try to get some sleep.. okay?.. I'll be just in the living room if you need me"

Lucy had a puzzled look on her face

Lucy) "Oh..you're not going back home?"

Tim) "If it's alright with you'd I'd feel better if I was here with you for the next few hours or days. I'll cook,
help you in whatever way, and don't worry about getting anything just call me and I'll get it for you. I'll sleep on the couch so I can hear you"

Lucy) "Are you sure Tim?"

I nodded and Lucy nodded back

Lucy) "Thank you Tim"

....SLAM
My eyes shot open and I look at Lucy's front door

Tamara) "OH Tim?! I'm so sorry I didn't know you were staying over, sorry didn't mean to wake you I'll just go into my room."

I rubbed my eyes
Tim) "Oh...u-um...no you're fine...I was just staying a little while to be here for Lucy..what time is it?"

Tamara) "A little after 11.. I just came home from a night out. Um....why are you on the couch?"

She gives a funny look between me, the couch I was on and Lucy's bedroom door...

Tim) "Oh! It's um.. not like that... We're not sleeping together. We're waiting till marriage, I just still wanted to be there for her."

Tamara) "Oh..um well okay... Night Tim"

Tim) "Yeah..night"

Lucy's pov:
I open my eyes to see Him... At the edge of my bed holding a gun to my head.

Lucy) "Emmett.."

Part of me wanted to scream for Tim but I didn't know if I'd get shot.

Emmett) "You ready to end this once and for all Lucy?"
He said with a creepy grin as he pulls the trigger
BANG

I wake up and sit straight up in bed....

Oh it was just a nightmare... It's hard to breathe and my head is pounding.
There's no way I'm getting back to sleep now. I decide to text Tim.

Tim's pov:

Man how did I fall asleep for this long.
Buzz
My thoughts get interrupted when my phone gets a text notification

Luce💕: Hey... I'm fine. Do you just mind coming into my room for a second..

I don't even text back, even though she said she's fine, I have to make sure.
I slowly crack the door open and see her sitting up in bed with tears down her face... My poor girl
I slowly shut the door behind me hoping Celina doesn't wake up and rush over to her and rub her arms

Tim) "Hey... Talk to me... What's on your mind?"

I wipe her tears away and she kisses me, I give her a kiss back.
I hold her close and rub her back

Tim) "Is that why you texted me? Cause that's the best reason to text me"
I say with a smirk and small laugh

Lucy) "m-maybe partially...I keep having nightmares... About him shooting me again.. and I hate them and there's no way I'm getting back to sleep now"

Tim) "Babe I'm so sorry... I wish I could stop them from happening.. Is there anything that could help?"

Lucy) "I don't know I think I just needed someone to vent to.. and to know that you were safe."

I held her face in my hand and kissed her forehead

Tim) "You're the sweetest. I'm always here for you. I love you."

I say as I start to walk toward the door

Lucy) "I love you too- T-Tim..."

I turn around and see another tear fall from her cheek

Tim) "Yeah?"
Lucy) "Um..Nevermind"
Tim) "Are you sure Luce?"

Lucy thinks for a second and restarts

Lucy) "Would...you mind sleeping in bed...w-with....me?.."

Did she just???
My heart skipped a beat
I must of looked shocked..

Lucy) "N-not like y'now...I promise I still wanna wait until marriage.. I just don't feel good right now and feel like I need someone right beside me...only if you're comfortable with it though!... it's okay if you're not..."

This seems like a bad idea but she needs someone. And nothing is gonna happen.

Tim) "Um sure, of course..."
I get on the other side of bed with her and wrap my arms around her.

Lucy) "Thank you... For everything..."

I hold her closer as we both go sound asleep.

The next morning:
Lucy's pov:

I rub my eyes as I start to wake up. Thankfully my wound is starting to heal more and more.
I put my right hand on my stomach to where my healing wound is but feel another hand already there. I put mine on top of his and hold his hand
I love him.
He starts to move around and wake up. A few seconds later he moves his hands to hold my face and smiles slightly. I can't help but smile at him

Tim) "Morning Beauty...Time?"

I chuckle at him

Lucy) "Morning and it's seven am"

Tim) "Did you sleep alright?"

I smiled

Lucy) "Yeah, so much better. Thanks for coming in here...I'm sorry if it was... awkward or anything.."

Tim shook his head

Tim) "Nah it was fine..I'm glad you slept good...hmmm"

Lucy) "What's all this deep thinking for?"

Tim) "Should I make you breakfast, or should we grab something..."

Lucy) "Timmm, I don't want you to have to make me som-"

I get cut off by him kissing me all of the sudden.

Tim smirked

Tim) "Making you something it is then! Omlets or pancakes? Both!"

He says as he rushes into the Kitchen

I roll my eyes and smile at him

How did I get so lucky??
