Chapter 13 - Don't Change

Lucy's pov:

Tim was rushed into the hospital to check for all injuries while Ben and Emmett's bodies were taken away by the coroners.
I was able to ride with Tim in the ambulance but he had fallen asleep and in and out of consciousness the whole ride over.

I sat beside his hospital bed as he was being worked on and fixed up, thankfully nothing too serious. Mainly some bruised hips, ribs and a stab wound on his upper stomach but it wasn't deep and was already healing.

I leaned over to move a piece of hair out of his face and then I picked up his limp hand and held it

Lucy) "I love you... You can rest... But know I'm gonna be right here when you wake up... Doctor's said you're gonna be fine...Thank God...."

The next morning

I glanced over at his face that was now clean and free of blood to see his eyes flutter open.

He smiles and makes me do so in return

Lucy) "There he is...The man, myth and legend."

I said as I held the side of his face

Tim grabbed my hand and kissed it.

A few tears fell down my cheek

Lucy) "You know you gave us quite the scare..."

Tim) "I'm so sorry... But I'm okay.. I promise"

I nodded

Lucy) "I'm sorry about Ben..... He was a brave man.. he saved your life... And for that I'm forever grateful."

Tim gave me a small smile but I could tell he was hurting inside and in this case outside as well.

A few hours have passed and Tim picked up a trashy magazine to read

Tim) "I'm ready to be home."

Lucy) "Me too, but we still have aleast a 5 hour car ride home, that is when you're discharged and feeling better, and everything."

Just then Angela bust through the hospital door

Angela) "Trust me I'm ready to see my husband and kids!... You know you're so lucky Tim... She stayed by your side all night..."

Angela tilted her head at me

Tim smiled at me and mouthed a "thank you"

Angela) "You know it reminded me of the time Tim stayed with you the whole night in the hospital after Caleb took you..."

My mouth dropped slightly

Tim) "Angela!"

Angela) "Sorry! I'll leave"

Angela backed up and waited outside the room

My mind raced. Did he really do that? All those years ago? When he claimed "we are not even friends"?

Tim looked at me and sighed

Tim) "Well Angela wasn't supposed to say... But yeah .. I did... I liked you and
I stayed with you all night because... Because I had to make sure you were okay, and I had no idea what Caleb had done and couldn't let anything else happen to you.
Plus for the first month after it happened every time I fell asleep all I would do is have nightmares that someone else was taking you to do awful things.."

I leaned over Tim's hospital bed, hugged him and whispered

Lucy) "I liked you that long ago too.."

I winked at him and he kissed me.
