"Staring at the phone with not making it magically ring," Andy commented, not looking away from the movie, and Heather snickered beside him.

Matt had left about an hour ago to check in on the construction, and initially, Connor and Heather were supposed to meet him there, but Connor got called home for a tense family dinner, and Gregory had kicked Heather off the site. Heather had shown up at Kelly's apartment with Andy, ranting about how misogynist Gregory Casey is. Matt raised his eyebrows and climbed off of Kelly to let Heather collapse on him once she finished her rant. Matt had ended up going to the construction site by himself, grinding his teeth whenever Gregory commented on wanting to televise everything, even though he returned to Chicago for the night before returning to New York once he believed Matt would follow his orders.

"Shut up," Kelly muttered, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at the phone on the coffee table that was still full of desserts from Cassie. Half of it was in the fridge for his mother, but the three ate the other half.

Andy snickers and allows Kelly to ignore the movie he picked out and stare at the phone, which has remained silent since Matt left four hours ago.

"He's probably just busy," Heather said and looked down to check the time on her phone. "It's only nine-thirty," she said, and Kelly sighed and slid deeper into the couch.

"He's so lovesick," Andy mocked and whispered to Heather, who chuckled and nodded.

"So what's the plan for the date anyway?" Heather asked, glancing at Kelly and then at the movie.

"That's for me to plan, him to find out, and probably him telling you later, so you'll find out later," Kelly said, and Heather huffed impatiently.

"I hope you know that you might be my boyfriend's best friend, but you are about to go out with my best friend, and I know people and places. I will make your body disappear if you ever hurt him," she threatened, glaring at him with so much honesty, fire and protectiveness in her blue eyes.

"I promise I won't," Kelly answered honestly. She narrowed her eyes, studying him for a few minutes before giving a short nod and turning to the TV. Kelly glanced over her head at Andy, who shrugged and turned back to the movie as well, while Kelly turned his attention back to the phone.

Despite the movie, it was silent for another hour when the phone rang, and Kelly jumped to grab and answer it.

"Hello?" he asked, but the phone kept ringing. He turned to see Heather holding up her ringing phone with mirth swimming in her eyes.

"Hello?" She answered, making Kelly huff and put the phone back down on the coffee table, glaring at it. "Yeah, I can be there, when?... Sure... No, have you?... Oh?... Well fuck, Gregory Casey... Yeah sure... Do we need to tie him to the bed again?... He looked good in silk... *blushes* Fuck off... Yeah, yeah *eyeroll*... No... Do you want to come or not?... NOT LIKE THAT YOU BASTARD! *facepalm*... Meet me at the halfway point... Ice cream, duh... We'll get him something or drag him with us... But you just said he left... Matt isn't that big. I'll bring a suitcase, and we'll shove him in there and sneak him out... I can say that I had to deliver something and I only had a suitcase to put it in... No one would give me weird looks... Heyyyyyy!... Wow, I have the best friends, don't I? *deadpan*... Fuck off... Bye." She hung up and leaned over to peck Andy's lips before jumping up and grabbing her bag. "That was Connor, I need to go rescue his ass from boredom and tension."
