So going to start off with a story suggestion:
Guys you need to read 'Maybe Someday' by Colleen Hoover, I read it in 2 days and omg it is the best book ever.

Now back to the story..

Noah blinked multiple times, wondering whether he was imagining the figure Infront of him. His hand was still firmly clasped around the door.

"Noah?"

"Go away." Noah hissed, swinging the door to shut it but was stopped midway by a firm hand. The look on his fathers face meant he wasn't messing around.

"Don't do this son, it's Christmas Day." The pleading in his eyes looked sincere but Noah knew not to trust his fathers intentions.

"You don't get to call me son anymore, not after what happened." his words were blunt and David wasn't expecting such a hoarse welcome. "So if you will excuse me, I have other things to do than talk to you."

"You have no choice in the matter Noah, as much as you don't like it, I still own 25% of the company and am hear to collect some paperwork." Noah stood watching his father in disbelief knowing full well he wasn't here for anything overt than work. Stepping to the side and letting his father stride past him, anger boiled through his veins.

David knew his way through the estate after being here several times when all was okay with the Hart family but now walking through the narrow halls with the evening sun cascading it's last light, he couldn't help but feel guilt that he had let business and money get in the way of having a relationship with his son.

He could hear Noah's footsteps on the dark oak floor behind him as they headed towards Noah's office. Upon arriving, David turns to his son and gestures for him to go first realising that his son was eyeing his every move.

"You can get these papers then you are out of here." Noah spat in his direction, opening the door for himself and closing it with a bang.

"I didn't intend to stay long." David spoke under his breath, playing with the cuffs of his suit jacket as he waited patiently for Noah to exit the office once again.

A sound of timid tapping drew David into the direction of the hallway that lead towards the front entrance and that's when his eyes landed on her. He had to look twice, making sure he wasn't seeing things but as the woman walked closer through dim lighting he hid himself in the shadows not wanting to attract her attention.

Getting a good look at her face before she walked towards the hallway that led to the stare well, he couldn't help but notice the similar Brunette wavy hair, the rose pink lips and the small, petite figure.

When she was out of sight, he turned his attention back to the office he was stood Infront of, frowning in confusion and curiosity. After a few moments, Noah emerged from the office with a folder full of papers, the blank expression still firmly planted on his face as he pushed the papers into David's chest before walking down the hallway towards the front door.

"Thank you Noah, enjoy the rest of your night. Merry Christmas son." David commented before heading out of the door and not looking back, a small grin forming on his lips as he heard the bang of the door.

***

Anna still hadn't known if Noah had gone out for the evening when he rushed off to answer the door earlier. She hadn't heard him bring anyone into his home so she assumed he may have gone with them.

It was selfish of her to think he would maybe want to spend the night with her but how could he know she was craving attention like she had all of those years.
