The next morning, Cyrus kept his arm tightly wound around Carolina's waist as they walked to the train station. Before she could step onto the train, Carolina was spun around and pulled into Cyrus's chest. He kissed her deeply, causing disgusted responses from her fellow victors.
"Get a room!" Fletch groaned as he walked past the couple with a giggling Annie.
Carolina watched as the two victors stepped onto the train before turning back to her boyfriend.
"I'm going to miss you, too," Carolina smiled. "I will see you in two weeks."
Cyrus nodded, pulling her in for another kiss and mumbling, "I love you."
"I love you, too," Carolina whispered when she pulled away.
With that, Carolina walked onto the train just in time for its departure. She stood at the nearest window and waved at her boyfriend, who blew her a kiss in response. The second Cyrus was out of sight, Carolina's expression fell as she wiped her lips. She turned to the man standing on the other side of the car and turned her head in question.
"Why do you always have to watch?" Carolina sighed.
"I told you," Finnick shrugged, walking up to Carolina. "I never let my girl out of my sight."
Carolina nearly laughed. "Oh please, that tough-guy line you used on Cyrus?"
"Alright," Finnick rolled his eyes. "So you never watch me when I'm with other women?"
"I don't need to."
Finnick continued to walk towards Carolina, only stopping when his face inches away from hers.
"And why is that?" he asked.
"Because I know that when you are with them, you are thinking of me," Carolina said innocently.
Finnick smirked at her words. He grabbed her waist and turned her around, pushing her down the hall leading to the bedrooms. However, at the sight of Annie and Fletch, Finnick pulled his hands away and cleared his throat.
"Yeah, so I have a couple of questions about Charlie," Finnick said quickly, loudly enough for the other two victors to hear.
Fletch looked up from his conversation with Annie. When he saw that Carolina and Finnick were together, a smirk appeared on his face.
"And what's that, Odair?" he asked.
"Umm," Finnick hesitated. "I was going to ask Carolina what Charlie wanted for his birthday."
Carolina put a hand up to her mouth to stifle her laugh. Fletch nodded at the answer, but before the couple could leave, he stopped them.
"That's so odd," Fletch shook his head. "I could have sworn Charlie's birthday isn't until May 10th."
"How do you—" Finnick started, before cutting himself off when he saw Carolina's raised brows. "I mean, I just want to plan ahead."
"Sure, Odair," Fletch said. He turned to Annie. "Are you hungry? Let's go to the dining car."
Annie nodded and started walking down the hall. Fletch followed her, but not without turning around to wink at the couple before leaving the car.
Once the two were out of sight, Finnick's hands were on Carolina's waist again, and he led her to her bedroom. The door slammed shut behind them.
Finnick turned Carolina again and pushed her against the door. His lips were on hers within seconds. Carolina kissed him back immediately, melting into him. Finnick's hands moved down from her waist to her ass, squeezing it tightly. Carolina moaned at the action, wrapping her arms around his neck and pushing herself closer to him.
