"there will come a time, where you will be faced with no good or right decision and you will have to choose between two lesser evils, the lions will expect you to prove to them that you can make that choice, and not hide from the decision, for example, i'm gonna use king lotor as an example, you have king lotor completely at your mercy, but you cannot capture him, you can either kill him or release him to cause more chaos what will you choose" i asked, she froze
"that's" she started, but she noticed his hard glare
"you were faced with that choice weren't you" she asked
"there was a man named gendo ikari, i had him at sword point he had no weapons and was completely at my mercy, but i couldn't do it, i let him go, it is to this day one of my greatest regrets, the man nearly ended the world over a very selfish attempt at playing god, and playing with death, the latter especially is a big nono, and i watched it happen, i learned then that being a hero, was not always about defeating the bad guy sometimes you need to do some terrible things for the greater good of all, the ironic part is previously on in my journey, i fought a man named general ironwood who knew this lesson, but i and my allies didn't we believed we were able to fix all the damages without doing anything 'wrong', hah i learned that wasn't true, i was able to reverse that particular mistake, through accidental means later on, and to this date i hold an item from that world that puts the world permanently on a stalemate with the darkness" i said
"i see, how will i prove this" she said
"we have prisoners on this ship, prisoners that have done some serious atrocities, i have one picked out for you already, you are to kill that individual" i said, she froze
"and how will my lion know i am doing this" allura asked
"because i will be there" a voice said as she entered

"can i borrow your gun in that case" she asked, i nodded drawing 'trust' and handing it to her, she took the weapon as i led the way into the brig and the cell in question, and i let her inside where she saw lotor, upon seeing her he sneered
"ah so now the princess graces me with her presence" lotor said
"but they killed you" allura said surprised
"no, they killed maahox and destroyed castle doom so i could no longer be resurrected, but they let me live the fools" lotor sneered, allura froze, they let him live to be her personal test, she took a breath raising trust and pointing it at lotor
"oh how cute, but we both know you won't use that against me your too much of a goody too shoes" lotor said, then to his surprise she actually fired the weapon, the surprised look on his face was plastered onto his face as he fell limp
"good, you were merciful with it, but you still did it" the girl said
"that isn't necessarily a requirement, the lions do not expect saints and there are going to be times when you break, so long as you pull yourself back together all is fine" i said, the girl nodded agreeing
"will you be a paladin" she asked
"i leave that decision to you" i said
"what" she said
"i am going to suggest, but i am not from this universe, none of my people are, so i have no say it what happens here, except when my people are harmed" i said
"i would like you on the team" she said, i nodded
"which lion would you like me to take then" i asked
"your giving me full control" she asked
"yes and no, once the team is set that's it, i will let you pick the team including your new leader in the black lion rider, you are the senior here, and so you get that right" i said
"then please take over the black lion" she said
"as you wish" i said
"do you have people chosen for the other lions" she asked
"i do yes" i said
"then i think i'm going to leave that to you, you've opened my eyes, to many things, do you mind if we get to know each other a bit" she asked, i nodded
