settling them in on the recently bought hover cargo, and getting them into contact with the blitz team which will help set them up, and giving them a moderate amount of funds, i left them in the capable hands of the blitz team
"why is this blitz team so trusted by you" keith asked
"two reasons one they are good people, but also and just as importantly, they are S-ranked, which is the highest rank possible you can get as a zoid pilot, so they are also very skilled" i said
"ah, i see, you weren't just going to leave them behind" he said, i nodded
"of course not, their kids who just want excitement in their lives, i have given them that, while also being responsible about it, now" i said, returning the castle
"i have given a lot of thought, and on one condition will i use my resources to upgrade voltron" i said
"name it" allura asked
"i did my research and i noticed how the literal defender of the universe was just allowed to be impounded, with one lion held by the galaxy garrison, that is not allowed to stand so from this moment forward the lions will be backed by arus and auvoria, meaning, i expect a pilot from at least one of the royal families on the team, if not both, and that royal is to make absolutely certain that none of the lions ever fall out of the forces hands ever again" i said
"i-i" she sighed "i agree" she said after a moment
"good, from now on any threat to the safety of the universe is to be dealt with immediately as it arises no more reactive garbage, if there is a threat to the universe crush it, with all your might" i said
"very well" she agreed
"good, then if you will excuse me i will take the overgrown house cats off your hands and deposit them into the hands of my experts" i said, and i did just that, and the upgrades of the lions began, but i found that my two organoids specular and shadow seemed interested in the lions, and so they became a part of the overall project, meaning naruto had to take out the nexus of the lions and attempt to modify that
"time to get out the evangelions" i said with a sigh, i hated messing with those things but that was the closest thing we had to voltron's nexus, so out they came, and work began again making the lions of voltron into biomachines of incredible power and giving birth to newer stronger organoids that would be the avatar to the lions and their power
the process of essentially rebuilding the lions from the ground up took many months, and although naruto intended to have voltron deal with lotor and wade, it came down to it that voltron would be out of commission for too long, and so instead his fleet took out lotor and maahox
the fleet took out wade too when he decided to be stupid and attempt to sneak aboard castle sanctum in an attempt to learn auvorian secrets and sabotage the castle, since the castle held a union core and was just technically alive as a result, wade wasn't going to succeed and was promptly shown to the galaxy alliance as attempting to sabotage the castle and kill numerous innocents in the process, which got wade a court martial and thrown into his own prison 'the void' which naruto found very ironic indeed, when complete the lions didn't appear to have changed too much, though they did take on some similarities to the 'legendary defender' voltron, that existed in acxa's dimension for example the green lion now had a small shield upon it's back
"the lions are now complete" i said
"that's good, i assume there is a but to that sentence" keith said
"depends on what you would like the definition of the word to be, the lions are complete and i took apart my nations own protector in the getter arc to perfect your lions, as such i expect the pilots of voltron to be at their best
"hold on a minute most of us want to step back and retire from piloting the lions" lance said, i knew allura didn't she made that clear already, i looked at the other pilots
"is this what you all wish" i asked, they nodded
"very well princess come with me, it seems we need to find new pilots" i said
"we didn't say we'd retire now" keith said
"no, but with the upgrades i have made the lions will quite literally change the lives of their pilots, and i mean physically and mentally, as a result they will be pilots to voltron until they are so old that it would literally be a detriment, you lot appear to be in your late twenties in other words your prime and your stepping back, while that is your choice to make, it makes you not worthy of being the paladins of voltron" i said, i then gestured for allura to follow leaving the rest of the stunned team behind
"what did you mean changing the pilots" allura asked
"exactly what i said, voltron has been the defender of the universe for ten thousand years, that tells me that the universe will always need voltron, and having pilots that want to back out after only a few years, no as i said it will be for life, what i didn't mention is that, that life will be extended drastically, one of the changes that will be made, you will also be aloud to back out but for a different reason which i will explain in the comfort of my office" i said
