All the world's a stage

I was glad that my rambling to the extent of leaving me parched and breathless was worth the change in facial expression he showed, so he's a human after all. He looked rightfully confused with all the information given to him and was shocked when I asked about the existence of an idiotic guy with too much power. Welp, I've transmigrated into a brain-dead novel then, considering how this world has given the responsibility of its well-being to an imbecile.

After a while, he finally looked coherent and said, "The information you've shared is extremely fascinating but why should I trust you? What do you get by helping me? I've lived through enough betrayals to know there's no such thing as goodwill"

I was glad that he was accepting this entire situation rationally. Though most of my conscience was worried and anguished when he sounded so guarded. It'll take me a while to accept that this world is different. I should know that the aristocracy is filled with schemes, betrayals,  politics, and everything I religiously avoided in my previous life. I preferred to watch it all (in my humble opinion, the machinations and schemes that many power-hungry men and politicians carried out even in democratic countries are not so different from how aristocrats dealt with each other a few centuries ago, I always thought that it was ironic, really.)from the sidelines like the billions of other humans rather than becoming a part of it, but now things would change.  I answered his question by saying, "Yeah, I do have a motive behind helping you, though you look frosty, it's way too obvious that you're a good person, I'm sure I won't regret helping you. Do you know the number of times I wanted to punch and concuss the characters in the novels I read, this is literally fate granting me my wishes, so to simplify it all, my main motive is to experience all the drama completely (may it be good or bad), and memories I might get by staying here. But if you do not accept my help, I'll just follow the route many protagonists have taken, I'll live a life as a commoner and if I have enough capital, I'll try to be a businesswoman, I'm informing my plans to you, though it might seem unnecessary because to this world, I'm your sister, and every decision I take might have an impact on your reputation. Coming back to our topic of discussion, what do you say? Is it a deal or not?"

He responded by saying, "I cannot trust you blindly, it'll take time for me to accept you as my ally, and as long as you do not betray me you'll have the support of the House of Martin, but, if you betray my trust, you'll know that the rumors about me that you'll soon learn weren't all lies that were woven. If this is fine by you, it's a deal." I was almost offended when he spoke about betrayal but I understood his reasons, so I replied saying, "Dude betraying you? My defining quality as a Taurean is being loyal to death and annoyingly stubborn, I wish you good luck dealing with me in the future. " 'Wait and see me annoying the heck out of you, that is, if you see me as a person to be trusted enough to be your sister was of course left unsaid', I can't scare away a potential sibling right?

I playfully asked, "Am I worthy enough to know your name Sir Martin?". He smiled and said, "I'm Noah Martin, Miss Johnson, and yes unfortunately, there is an imbecile who has too much power and fits your description, he's the Crown Prince, Denver Aurelius. Though I'd hope you would refrain from expressing your opinions openly elsewhere about him as it would be troublesome to get you out of the prison for treason."

Hmm, one last question and I'll know if he's the second male lead or the villain. So, I asked, "Mr.Martin, is there any lady in the aristocracy who is frequently subjected to rumors both good and bad and has the faith of the commoners" He pondered for a while and then responded, "Yes, Lady Lillian Winchester fits your description" I further probed, "Is she interesting or attractive in your eyes, please answer honestly." He immediately responded, "Of course not, we're acquainted because of the strong alliance that our houses share and because our fathers were childhood friends. My sister got along well with her, but after our parent's demise, she stopped socializing." That's it, my newly acquired brother was the villain of this stupid novel-based world, I feel like punching the author who wrote the novel.

I said, " 'All the world's a stage, all the men and women merely its players' These sentences are part of the verse written by William Shakespeare, a great playwright and poet in my world. So, in this world's play, Lady Lillian is the FL i.e. Female Lead or the female protagonist and that crown prince is the Male Lead and you Mr. Martin might be the villain. And before you jump to conclusions on literal meanings, let me clarify that in many novels, the villain is never the bad guy, but is the person who gives a strong opposition to the protagonists. It's a well-known fact that the narration of a story changes from person to person. In the protagonist's point of view, anyone who opposes their goals and ambitions is painted as the bad guy. You aren't an irrational guy, so if you opposed that guy(Denver), it means he would have something to do with the death of your parents and sister. I've got no evidence to prove my words, so they're allegations and accusations at best right now, but I hope my words are of some help in your goal."
