POV - Starlight
Location - Deep Within The RainForest
Time - 7am

The thumping of my heart grew louder and louder in my ears. The vibrations within my chest grew stronger and stronger. The thoughts engulfing my mind, leaving nothing but a want to survive.

Far behind flew dragons, massive wings, beating at the very skies as if it were no struggle what so ever. Blazing hot fires, singeing my scales at every graze. As figures of the sun snapped at my escape.

Breaths shortened at the flight, causing my wings to drop, pain circulating my whole nervous system. But if I stop now...Breathing went down into segments, gaining any air into my compressed lungs was a challenge. It would be my last flight...

In that moment, a blast of immense fire slammed into my back. The burns infecting my brain with such agonising pain. Couldn't hold in the horrid gasp which blew from my mouth, sounding like I had some type of throat infection.

Distant laughs pondered behind. My body weak, wings shaken as my own lungs gave up on me. The sudden loss of air dragged my body towards the forest below.

Vision faded as I saw the blue skies turn into leaves. Tall, exquisite timber came into view. Monumental giants of green penetrated my sights as unforeseen anguish consumed my whole body. Starting from my back, spiralling to my very mind. One last puff of air wriggled from my snout as the world darkened. Distant talon steps came closer and closer. I believed this was it. I thought I was done for. I'm sorry my Queen...

POV - Ambergold

A freshly selected mango rested in my grasp. Its colour shinning ever so bright in the morning sun, as the bark beneath my talons gave a strange comforting feeling.

Until remote voices flooded my hearing. Scales shifted, becoming the colour of my very world as I felt my heart freeze. The tones were far from what I usually hear, laughter, ones full of a twisted desire I wished to never see.

Strong wings battling the skies above. Their voices booming, felt as if they were closing in on me. A sudden urge to eavesdrop ate at me, my grey eyes shinning brighter than they should at the thought.

All of which were ceased abruptly as a secluded thump arose. Teal spikes flared with anticipation, a want to search for the cause. I can't...Father told me to gather fruits as soon as I awoke! If I'm gone for too long... Pondering, I began climbing down from the tree I was perched upon. He'll be worried..

Contemplating as my body shifted closer and closer to the thump. Unease fluttered across my scales and yet my talons still drew me nearer. Mind so far engrossed within worry but I was already standing before the source.

An ebony coated dragon, with grey tints and blue splotches here and there. Their chest struggling to rise at every breath, curiosity overwhelmed me as I looked down at the dragon. They must be what that group are looking for! Hitting me, I craned my neck back, narrow eyed as I stared deeply into the forest.

I sat, wondering what I should do with them. Having no idea for their needed presence by the other group, it left many possibilities on why this dragon was such a want.

An unexpected gasp came from below, soon having lilac eyes staring back at me with such fear. Fresh ocean blue blood trailed from their mouth as they glanced at me, wide eyed. "Who...Who are you..?!" The hybrid whispered, yet their tone frantic. His breathing quickened, slowly going down to an even pace.

"I...Well...Uhhh...I'm...Ambergold.." I replied, my voice far too hushed than it should've been, but I had little to no desire to communicate with another today. Yet, I still gave him a talon, helping the wounded dragon up. "You..?" "Starlight...Please help me...Sky wings are out to end me...I...I need...Shelter-"

A miss step caused the dragon to fall to the ground. Rushing to aid, I helped him up again, moving slower for him to adapt. Nothing further was said between the two of us. I know I should've asked more, incase he was a criminal or scheming something. However it by passed my mind, only set on finding help for him.

Some time later I found a place for him to rest. Bark surrounding us with a nice amount of heat for comfort. As leaves of green poked in and out, giving the area a nice nature feel. Followed by dim lighting, very little sun reaching our scales. I would've gone closer to the village, but he ordered me to hide elsewhere, hearing the sky wings near.

"I am now in your debt..." Starlight mumbled, limping onto his stomach, his lilac eyes staring at mine. Shifting with unsureness, a nervous chuckle emitted from within me. "Hahah...I...I suppose so..." Slowly allowing my pale-peach tail to curl atop my talons, bringing some comfort into the situation.

"Apologies for this all...The sky wings have had a grudge against me for a while..." Making amends, Starlight chuckled along, however it felt more forced. Obviously causing him excruciating discomfort. "It's okay...May I ask like, why they have a grudge against you? I'm sorry! I'd just like to know...You...You know? Yeah??" Stumbling on my own words, moving my body closer to listen in.

He thought, staring at his talons for but a moment before replying. "They raided my Kingdom. I stood up to them and embarrassed them all...Now all they wish is to bring that back to me...Hence why I'm here...I had to flee my Kingdom to save my life." Admitting, Starlight pressed his wings harder against his sides, laying his head down atop his talons, after looking up at me.

I did the best I could. Wandering out in search of anything to losen the pain he felt. Checking to see if the group had gotten closer and so on. Giving him company and making sure he didn't drift off into a deep, deep sleep.

All in all, I'm praying to the moons he doesn't take his final breath under my watch.
