Chapter 15: Belle

The next week went by in a blink of an eye. We were all busy with tests and assignments. Tomorrow will be the day of the Yule Ball. We have been given an extra day off to prepare for the ball, Hermione, Luna and I decided to go to Hogmeade and find our dress last minute. The three of us had been so caught up in studying that we forgot about buying a dress.

On the way to the dress shop, Hermione was ranting about Ron. We all knew the two of them liked each other but they were both too stubborn to admit it.

"Last week, Victor Krum asked me to be his date for the Yule Ball, and naturally I said yes because who wouldn't? And then Ron started acting like I've committed a crime! It's not my fault Victor likes me and not your annoying ginger hair!" She huffs in anger.

"I don't think Victor is the one he wants, Mione." I laugh.

Hermione's face flushes red "What- What are you talking about?"

Luna chuckles "I think it's obvious Ron likes you"

"Well, why didn't he ask me to be his date?" She crosses her arms.

"He's an idiot," Luna says pushing open the door to the shop.

The shop was filled with students buying last-minute dresses. I guess we weren't the only ones that forgot. We walked around the store and picked out a few dresses to try on. After showing each other we settled on our dresses.

Hermione chose a pink dress with lots of layers and a sweetheart neckline. It fit her perfectly, she looked like a princess in the dress.

Luna chose a silver gown with sparkling stars all over the dress. It suited Luna, the sparkles made her shine.

Finally, I chose a shimmering light blue off-the-shoulder dress. I initially wanted to choose an emerald green dress, but the color reminded me too much of...someone. So I chose blue since I'm a Ravenclaw.

After buying the dresses we head back to Hogwarts. We bump into Harry and Ron on our way back.

"Oh hey guys" Harry greets us enthusiastically. While Ron stands awkwardly, trying to avoid eye contact with Hermione. "Where did you guys go?" Harry asks, not noticing the tension between his two best friends.

"We went to buy dresses for the Yule ball," I answered smiling at him.

"Oh, I almost forgot, how are the preparations going?" Harry smiles.

"We were going back to the dorms, if you would excuse us" Hermione shoots Harry a quick smile and a glare at Ron before dragging us along with her.

"Harry doesn't know about your fight with Ron?" I ask confused.

She shakes her head "That boy is as dense as ever, never notices anything."

Hermione left her dress at our dorm since we planned to get ready together. Soon after, we all head to bed, awaiting the exciting ball.

The next day, the school was filled with laughter and excitement. This was what the students had been waiting for all year long. As the girls were busy getting ready, the boys were all freaking out about having to dance.

Hermione came over early in the morning, bringing breakfast with her for all of us to eat. We quickly ate before starting to get ready. Soon, our room was scattered with makeup and accessories all over the ground. We danced to music while getting ready, it felt more like a sleepover party than preparing for the ball.
