"All that time never even knowing just how blind I've been"

- I See the Light (Tangled)

The day of the third and final task of the Triwizard tournament has finally come. Excitement filled the hallways, everyone was preparing banners and doing face paints to support the contestants. Soon enough it was nighttime, and the contestants were about to enter the maze. I sat with my friends cheering for Cedric with the rest of the students.

Cedric turns around to face the stands. Meeting my gaze one last time before they were set off into the maze. We all sat in the stands awaiting Victor, Cedric, and Fleur to return. After an hour of anticipation, someone appears in the thin air with the Triwizard cup. Everyone stood up to see who the winner was.

The announcer screams "And the winner is Cedric Diggory!"

Everyone including myself was screaming hysterically. We were overjoyed by Cedric's victory. Shortly after Victor and Fleur also return. All of Cedric's friends ran to celebrate with him, throwing him into the air. I decided to stay in the stands and congratulate him later.

Later that evening, there was a huge celebration party in the Hufflepuff common room. All the students were allowed to attend, so I went with all of my friends. I was chatting with Hermione until I accidentally bumped into someone.

I rub my forehead "I'm so sorry" I apologize to that person.

A familiar deep voice replies "It's fine"

I look up to see Draco Malfoy staring back at me. I stare into his stormy grey eyes for a few seconds before awkwardly walking away with Hermione.

"I didn't expect him to be at the party." Hermione whispers.

Still stunned by our interaction I whisper "Me neither."

Soon enough, I was able to forget all about it. Or at least I tried to. We had lots of fun playing games and dancing. Cedric was always with his friends and 6th-year students so I didn't have a chance to talk to him alone all night long. Just as we were about to leave, Cedric strides across the room.

He smiles sweetly "Belle, can we talk for a second?"

I nodded and returned the smile. We walked into his dorm for a chat. His room only had one bed and was bigger than my shared dorm with Luna. 6th year privileges. I was jealous of the size of his dorm.

We sat on his bed and casually chatted. I congratulated him and he talked about how scary the maze was. We had a nice laugh, I was fun until he said this.

"I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now." He says nervously.

I nod as an encouragement for him to continue.

"Well, Belle you're an amazing girl. You're smart, humble, kind, and beautiful."

Why is he complimenting me all of a sudden?

"Thanks" I reply with a shy smile.

"That's not it. I've noticed how you've always been there for me. Always supporting me in the quidditch stands, 'borrowing' food from the kitchen so I can eat before the tasks. Yeah, don't think I've never noticed that. I'm thankful but you better not break the rules again." He gives me a fatherly scolding.

I scratch the nape of my neck in embarrassment. I thought he didn't catch on.

"Anyways, in the middle of the year, I noticed I started seeing you in a different light. You've become more mature and pretty. Before I knew it, I started having feelings for you." He smiles.
