The soft smaller hand was interlocked with Perth's right hand, as he looked at the black car they walked towards in his driveway. He remembered sitting in that car or looking under the hood. And recalling the irritated bratty demanding voice that yelled at him when he first worked on the car.

He smiled at in the direction of the car before turning to look at the driver of it.

"What?" Chimon asked in a confused manner, with narrowed eyebrows.

"So, what's your answer?"

Chimon immediately looked down to the grey bricks of the driveway. Giving an answer felt scary. Then glancing to the strong hand, he squeezed it.

As they stopped walking at the door of the car, Perth faced him. His hand let go and slid up Chimon's professional button up shirt. "I won't let you go, Mon. So, you should just say yes" he said as he looked at the black lashes and pretty skin of his eyelids.

Chimon took in a long deep-breath before looking up at the mechanic. "This all seems too messy. Obviously your parents have a problem with it. My family has always been fine with my sexuality, but they still have trouble fully supporting it. I just need time to think this through."

Biting the inside of his cheek, Perth lazily nodded.

Then Chimon pulled away to open the door.

"Okay."

Perth hated the feelings boiling under his skin. The emptiness in his hands became apparent. Desperate words sat on his lips, but he just watched Chimon sit down with the car door still open.

He felt a shiver on his back as he leaned down to the man. Putting his hand on the place where the door will close, he came three inches away from Chimon's face. "Remember, I'm deadly serious about you. Please, be my boyfriend?"

Their eyes met each other. The focused brown eyes were fierce. It felt like a spotlight on Chimon, making him nervous.

"Think it through, if that's what you need. Just remember, you already belong to me," Perth said as he leaned in.

Chimon shut his eyes, feeling a burst of butterflies in his stomach. His lips were tenderly kissed with a soft hum coming from the other guy. He didn't want to leave. He wanted to wrap his arms around Perth's neck and lock themselves in his bedroom for another couple of days.

He yearned for the touch as Perth moved to kiss his cheek. Then the mechanic whispering into his ear, "Have a good day, my cute mister grump."

A blush crept up on Chimon's face, but he quickly turned his gaze to the steering wheel, "whatever."

Perth smirked and said "so cute." Then he stood up and closed the car door.

Chimon drove off while Perth watched before walking back inside. He was smiling to himself even though he felt a tinge of anxiety about this evening.

After a few hours passed, Perth was walking back inside the house from his garage. He was waxing his car since he hadn't driven it for a few days. And as he opened the door, he heard a car drive up. Turning to check, it was his mother.

He rolled his eyes to himself and closed the door behind him, but not locking it. He waited at the dinning room table

A couple of minutes later, the woman walked through the front door. The clap of her high-heels echoed through the house.

Perth glanced at her and immediately turned turned to face the the stained glass windows to the far end of the room. The red and greens shined with a warm glow from the setting sun.

"Aren't you going to greet me?" His mother said in an irritated voice as she set her bag down on the table. She stood in the same outfit as earlier in the day.

Perth was still furious at the way she acted earlier. It was one thing for her to say rude things to him, but to talk about Chimon like that, he was seething with anger. Pressing his tongue to the inside of his right cheek, he glared up at her from where he sat.

She suddenly nudged his head back with her fist. "Are you mute? What has that boy done to you?" She said, with twisted eyebrows.

"Ma! Stop already!" He said as he pulled his head away from her grasp.

"What!?" She asked as she stepped back.

"How could you talk about him like that? I know you have some common decency."

She stood back, crossing her arms, and said, "My sweet son, why does this even matter? It's not like that person matters anyway. I'll treat anyone that matters with respect, but only if they deserve it. Obviously, he didn't deserve-"

"What the hell!? How could you say that!?" He yelled, standing up from his spot.

"I've picked out many different fine, educated, and wealthy women for you to be with over the years. Why can't you just pick one of them? This silliness looks so bad," she said with an almost innocent expression.

Perth clenched his fists as he listened.

She continued on, "And if you really like being with one of those. Then you could at least marry one of the women I pick out, and you can discretely mess around with any boys you want in your privacy."

He was always hurt by here hateful comments and denial of his sexuality, but this time was different. He took a deep breath. "Ma, I've told you that your suggestions are not an option for me. He's not going anywhere and you need to apologize to Chimon," he said with a sickness boiling in his stomach.

She flipped her hair and said, "I don't have anything to apologize for."

"Mommmm!" He whined, feeling like he could vomit. "He's exactly the type of person you want me to be with. He's nice, educated, and even wealthy. Is it really so bad that he's a man instead of a woman?"

She shook her head and looked around. "I think we should talk about this particular issue another time. Do you want me to cook a meal for you?"

"Please, don't change the subject. I'm trying to have this conversation now. You can't just choose to ignore my feelings again and again."

She looks at him, hearing the emotion in his voice. "My boy, look we will talk more another time. I promise. But for right now, should I order food to be delivered? What would you like?" She said as she brushed his hair back from his face.

"No. If you don't have anything else to say... I think you should leave," he said feeling at a loss.

She smiled at him sweetly, acting like she wasn't being rude just a few moments ago. "Actually, we do have something to discuss. My poor son, should I run a bath for you? Your mind seems to be strained."

"No. Just say what you need to," he said feeling weakened by her constant disregard.

They both sat down, faced towards each other. Perth watched the movement of her pupils as she talked.

"The reason I wanted to talk in the first place is because I need you to begin taking up roles at the company." She explained that there is something suspicious going on in their company. "I need you to be responsible for once."

He listened to her words, hating that he could bend down before her so easily. And now, he was forced to follow her request to work.

After some negotiating, Perth said, "I'll only take up a small job and don't expected me to work long hours, because I'm not giving up my position at uncle's garage."

"Fine," she said in a sharp tone.

Soon after she left, Perth walked up to his bedroom. He looked the the door where he held Chimon up to kiss him. Remembering the words of want that flooded the air and the heat that surrounded their bodies. He was defeated and wished, he could see him again already.
