One year later.
On a cool and breezy Saturday night, Perth brought Chimon to a nice dinner at a restaurant on the riverside. Their privately reserved table looked out over the river with sparkling lights lined around the perimeter.
Chimon gazed at Perth with a large smile on his face. His boyfriend always knew how to make him feel special and cause butterflies to form in his stomach. "This is beautiful," he said as he sat across the small table from him.
"Yeah, I agree. There isn't a better place than here with you," Perth said as he reached to hold Chimon's left hand. A rush of anxiety swept through his body.
As he leaned closer, against the table, Chimon sent a wink to him with a smug grin.
Then Perth stood to give him a kiss on the forehead. "My mister grump, Chimon..." he said in a sincere tone as he then got down on a knee in front of him. Pulling out a ring from his packet.
Chimon looked at him, stunned, with wide eyes as he watched his boyfriend.
Continuing Perth said, "I love you more than anything in the entire world. YOU are my world and I know it all started out crazy between us. I can't imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?"
"Perth," Chimon whined in absolute awe as he leaned down to him, pressing their foreheads together. "I fucking love you too. I can't believe this." Almost whispering at this point, "I really want to marry you. So, yes, yes, yes. You better not dare leave me ever."
At the same time, Perth found Chimon's left hand to slide the silver ring on his finger. It fit perfectly. "I love you," Perth said as he kissed Chimon. Then his right hand moved to the back of Chimon's neck, deepening their kiss. It was just as passionate as when they first began dating.
Pulling away, finally getting off his knee, Perth gazed at his, now, fiancé with so much love. The nervousness was still bubbling in his core, he was still in disbelief that he proposed. As the night continued, he couldn't take his eyes away from the man in front of him.
Even as the food came and they walked out to the parking lot. Perth kept watching Chimon. He's in love.
As he saddled onto his shiny black and silver motorcycle, he said, "I invited my parents over for a dinner next week. Will you also invite your family too? I want to celebrate our engagement."
"Already? Okay. With my siblings too?" Chimon asked as he climbed onto the bike behind his man.
"Yes of course..." Perth then revved the bike.
Chimon wrapped his arms around Perth's waist. Leaning into his fiancé, he pressed a deep kiss onto his shoulder blade. This was it, their life.
