John B had been missing for several hours. The sky was beginning to darken as the HMS Pogue neared the Cameron's dock.

"What now? Are we supposed to go up to the front door and ask 'Hey, have you seen John B'?" JJ asked.

The group was worried that John B would go after Ward. Brooklynn felt so bad for John B, but at least he knows his father is actually dead now.

"Look, he lives at Tannyhill. It's plausible," Kiara shrugged, "We can play dumb."

"Play dumb?" JJ scoffed.

"It's pretty late," Pope remarked.

"I've never seen John B like that. We should honestly be going to the cops," Kiara said.

"The cops? Kie, I love you and all, but..." Brooklynn trailed off.

"And say what, Kie? 'We're worried about our friend because he's going off on a rampage because Ward Cameron killed Big John?' Like they're not going to believe us!" JJ reasoned.

"Plus, the cops have literally never helped us in the past," Brooklynn added.

Pope sighed and dug a pair of binoculars out of his backpack. He put them up to his eyes and peered inside the Cameron's house, "Hey, I see Ward!"

Kiara immediately rushed over and took the binoculars from Pope, bringing them up to her own eyes.

"Doesn't look dead to me. Let's go home," Pope said.

Kiara dropped the binoculars on the floor in surprise, "What?"

"Obviously, Mr Cameron is fine. And even if John B was here, he isn't now," Pope explained, "I have the biggest, most important moment of my life in six hours!"

"Yeah? Well, our friend is in trouble!"

"I'm in trouble!" Pope retorted.

JJ groaned, sensing an argument was coming. Both of the blondes shared an annoyed look.

"Okay, so that's it?" Kiara snapped, "In a time of need, you're just gonna bail? You're just gonna walk away?"

"Yo, guys, can we not do this right now?" JJ asked.

Completely ignoring JJ, Pope said, "Hey, I have a scholarship interview in the morning. I can't-"

"What about John B?" Kiara shouted, cutting off Pope.

"Why is it always about John B?" Pope retorted.

Brooklynn sighed and went to sit down at the back of the boat, trying to avoid conflict.

"It's not always about John B. You're so stupid! It would be any of you guys in this situation," Kiara argued, pointing to each of her friends.

"Guys!" JJ shouted, trying to shut them up.
