After witnessing Ward murdering someone and a long day with her friends, Brooklynn went home.

Feeling absolutely drenched from the rain, Brooklynn hopped in the shower, taking her sweet time to shampoo her hair.

Exiting the bathroom in only a towel, Brooklynn found a certain blonde boy sitting on her bed waiting for her.

"Jesus, JJ," Brooklynn yelped in surprise.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you," JJ said, fidgeting with his hat in his hands.

"Knock next time. What if I was naked or something?" Brooklynn asked, snatching her clothes off her dresser.

"That wouldn't be so bad," JJ shrugged.

"What're you doing here anyway?" Brooklynn sighed.

JJ's expression turned serious for a moment, "We gotta talk, Brook."

"Wow, I never knew you to be one for confrontation," Brooklynn scoffed.

JJ frowned. This wasn't the girl he fell in love with. He knew Brooklynn as a goofy, Taylor Swift-loving, bookworm. But now, she was starting to remind him of everything he hated about himself.

Seeing as JJ had no response, Brooklynn turned around and headed back into her bathroom to change into her pyjamas.

Once Brooklynn had finished changing, she left the bathroom and retreated back to her room where JJ sat still on her bed.

"How'd you get in here?" Brooklynn asked.

"Your Mom let me in," JJ explained shortly.

Brooklynn forgot for a moment that her mother was a fan of the Pogues, "Right."

Picking up her hairbrush, Brooklynn began to brush her hair out, avoiding JJ's stare.

"Can we talk?" JJ asked, "Please."

Brooklynn ignored him, struggling to get a knot out of her hair.

JJ noticed her frustration, sighing while he stood up. He made his way to stand behind the pink-haired girl.

JJ put his hand out, silently asking for the hairbrush. Brooklynn could physically feel the tension in the air as she placed the brush in his hand.

He began to brush the knot out of her hair as Brooklynn picked at her nails.

"I love you," Brooklynn deadpanned.

JJ almost dropped the brush in his hand, "What?"

Brooklynn turned around and took the brush from him, placing it back on her dresser.

"I love you," Brooklynn repeated.

JJ had been under the impression that he was unlovable for so long that he could barely believe it.
