"Well the surgery went well , she's in room 313 recovering." The nurse said . I took a breath of relief as I sat back .

Thank God , I thought . I got up , picking up Kassidy as she was half sleep by now .
Michael and Amelia got up .

"Thank you." I said to the nurse .

"I'll lead you guys to the room." She said with a side smile .

Kassidy got to moving wildly in my arms before she sat up . We walked down the hallway going to the elevators . We all got on , waiting for the door to close .

"Daddy can I get down?" Kas asked so I put her down . She stretched and walked over to the nurse .

"Hi , I'm Kassidy." She said , the nurse smiled .

"Hey Kassidy , are you ready to see your mommy?" The nurse asked . Kassidy smiled wide , nodding .

"Well uhh.." I trailed off but Gene was a mother figure to her . She wasnt biological and couldn't replace Kelsey but she could at least have the title .

The doors finally opened on the third floor as we got off . The nurse walked in front of us with Kassidy right behind her as we all followed . She got to room 313, knocking first. She listened for a while before stepping back .

"There you go! Call if you need anything." She stated before walking away . I hesitated on opening the door .

"Nigga what the fuck you doing?" Amelia spat , pushing me out the way going in . "Oh my bitccch are you okaaay." She shrieked going .

Michael shook his head as we all went in . She didn't look bad , maybe tired but mostly in pain . "Hey boo , I'm okay." Gene said as Mel hugged around her head and she hugged Mel back .

"I swear I hate him." Mel grunted .

"Gene why are you in here?" Kas asked going to the other side of the bed .

"I'm gonna be out ."

"Hey." i trailed off as i went on the same side with Kas. she looked up at me with a slight smile. "You good?" I asked , she nodded . "It means alot for what you did for Kas , you know Kels did the same thing. I was just hoping I didn't lose you like I did her because it was just too similar ." I said .

"Well I'm here." She said .

Michael went over to her , starting to check on her as my phone rung. "What?"

"Some guys just walked in. I think they're strapped. They got they boys with em , surrounding the building we can't even get through." I went over to the window , looking down at the parking lot seeing a few guys walking , looking around . I bit down on my lip as I closed my eyes in frustration .

"Aight." I said dryly before hanging up . I was about to go the door before it was opened , in walking Marek and Raheem .

"The fawk happened?" Marek asked as Raheem mugged me. Michael looked up to them .

"Damn who are y'all?" Mel asked. They looked at her then turned away, ignoring her.

"You scraight doll girl?" Marek asked , going over to her .

"Who did it?" Raheem asked coming over towards me .

"Yo fam had snakes." I said .

"Oh word? Nate , yeah?" Marek blurted . Raheem nodded as I saw his tongue pressing against his cheek .
