The following day, Leigh and her squad were now tasked with protecting the American delegation as an advanced security element since the US Secret Service provided the close security force element. But what bothered Leigh was how on Earth did armed men know about the American motorcade in Wuhan.
But Leigh also knew she and her squad would have to refrain themselves from causing any trouble for the duration of the negociations between the US and Chinese authorities regarding the US bases in the Gulf of Tonkin and its region. And said negociations involved the US presence in the area to further deter China from ever starting war again. And said presence was also visible in Ukraine, the Baltic Region, newly-independent Kamchatka, Bangladesh, newly-independent Manchuria and Seoul-led Korea, where American troops were stationed to prevent Russia and China from ever starting war again wile troops stationed in Latin America prevented Venezuela and Nicaragua from those sinister deeds.
Leigh also knew American forces in Africa and the Middle East were allowed to be stationned there because the post-World War III United States had become stronger than ever before economically and militarily as well as progressed for better judicial, legal and social equality, since the Democrat Party as well as the moderate wing of the Republicans were now in control of the three major governmental institutions of the United States.
But Leigh also had to find out who was trying to start an all-out war in Southeast Asia three years after World War III ended with the victory of the US and its Allies over Russia, Iran, China, the now-defunct North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba, also known as the Axis. The peace has been made possible thanks to said absolute victory in the first globalized total war since 1945.
Leigh and her team were standing guard when they suddenly saw the US delegation walking past the US Marines alongside heavily armed US Secret Service agents. The officials then shook hands with their Chinese counterparts before entering a huge building inherited from the pre-war period.
As Leigh turned to Darnell, she and Dunning saw several Chinese policemen swhispering some very unpleasant remarks about the American servicemembers. The team understood they had to be wary of local cops, whom the US Marines knew were corrupt and violent. Leigh also knew that China also brainwashed its people into thinking the Americans were evil killers.
As she thought about that, Marquez and LaRue pointed their M4A1 carbines at the other side of the street before positively identifying the threat as armed men before Leigh and the rest of the team followed suit. Leigh then fired her M4A1 carbine at the gunmen, killing one of them before said gunmen opened fire with their AK variants and QBZ-191 rifles, prompting the Chinese cops to fire at the gunmen with their QBZ-95 rifles. Leigh and her squad then moved to cover before briefly emerging from behind the armored SUVs and firing their M4A1 carbine.
Several Chinese police killed some gunmen, but most of the cops were killed before Leigh and her squad swiftly and efficiently shot the gunmen dead with one shot to the chest and one to the throat. As other responders arrived alongside the USSS agents, Leigh and her squad collected intelligence on the dead bodies, knowing they would need every available piece of intelligence they could find and send them to both the US INDOPACOM and the US State Department alike.
Leigh, Darnell and LaRue found several cellphones while Tores, Dunning and Marquez found two notebooks with a four addresses written inside each of the notebooks. As the team gathered the found intelligence on the hood of their JLTV, Leigh contacted the HQ and requested them to send some reinforcements to help the US Marine Intelligence team out.
