-JADE'S POV-
I walk into the Blackbox theater for my first class of the day. It's early in the morning and I am already met with the most chaotic scene I've ever seen.
It doesn't surprise me one bit when I see Vega is involved in the chaos.
She's attacking some random big blonde haired dude, holding onto him from the back, struggling as the teacher, André and Beck are trying to get her off.
For the past four weeks, Vega has been this relentless buzz in my ear, irritating me at every turn. It's as if, since she arrived at Hollywood Arts, she possesses this uncanny ability to get under my skin with everything she does. The worst part? I can't escape her, as she's suddenly become a fixture in the group of people I usually hang out with.
She seems to be on this mission to get everyone to like her, but I can see through the act. Deep down, she isn't the happy, giddy good girl she portrays. Last week, in her never-ending quest to be the nicest girl ever, she attempted to compliment my choice of black nail polish. 'Oh Jade, I like your nails. Black is so... bold.' Ugh, as if her approval means anything to me. It's infuriating, this forced niceness. I'd prefer her to be far, far away from me.
After the whole improv exercise fiasco three weeks ago, I've been avoiding to speak to her. I only throw in a comment here and there when she absolutely deserves one. No need to waste my breath on someone who thinks she's a fucking saint.
I haven't forgotten how she was shamelessly flirting with Beck that day. The dancing, that wink – it was all too obvious. She's into him and trying to steal him away from me. He's oblivious, and so is everyone else. But I see it, and I'm just waiting for the perfect moment to get back at her.
Meanwhile the guys managed to get Vega off the other guy's back.
"What are you doing?" The teacher asks her.
"That guy was beating up Beck! Vega exclaims.
See! Wanting to protect her 'boyfriend' already.
"Oh, you poor thing." I tell her, rolling my eyes as I walk to stand next to Beck.
"We were practicing." Beck tells her.
"This is Russ." The teacher explains.
"I'm Russ!" The blond dude yells.
"He's a professional stuntman. I've invited him here to teach the class about stage fighting."
"And now, Tori says, 'What's stage fighting?'" I mock her.
"I wasn't gonna say that." She tells me trying to act like a smart-ass, looking annoyed with me. But I can tell she doesn't know.
The next thing she does is pulling André to the side and whisper 'What is it?'. He doesn't whisper back, but starts explaining it to her anyway.
"It's fake fighting that looks real, like for a play or a movie."
"I took a class with him last summer." Beck tells her.
"Well, it looked like he was hurting you."
Uhhhggg pathetic!
"Why do you care!?" I yell.
"'Cause I figure, he already suffers enough pain dating you." She responds.
That does it! I shoot towards her.
"You wanna see pain?"
But before I can do anything, I feel Beck pulling me away at my shoulders.
"Hey, why don't we go sit over there?" He says as he leads me towards one of the chairs in the classroom.
