-JADE'S POV-
It's been a few hours since Beck and I arrived at his RV, yet I have to admit that Tori Vega hasn't left my mind once. Despite the intimate setting and the genuine moments shared with Beck, the stage fighting scene is repeating constantly.
As the evening unfolds, Beck notices the subtle shift in my demeanor. "Everything okay?" he asks, a note of concern in his voice.
I exhale. "Just going over the stage fighting scene in my head," I admit, resting my head on his lap. His fingers run through my hair.
"Talking about it, Tori came to me, asking if I had any idea whether you're seriously planning something or scaring her just because." Beck says, his voice carrying a hint of curiosity.
My head shoots up, the peaceful moment ruined and my irritation building.
"She did what?!" I snap
"Babe—"
"No don't you 'babe' me!"
"I'm just wondering—"
"Whether I'm gonna hit her during the stage fighting scene?" I finish his sentence.
"Well—"
"Are you really thinking that low of me?!" I yell at him.
"Jade—"
"What?!"
"Can you just let me finish my sentences?!" He raises his voice, losing a bit of his patience.
Beck takes a deep breath, attempting to calm the escalating tension. "I wasn't implying that you are going to hit her, Jade. I was just going to say she's genuinely concerned and anxious about the scene."
I cross my arms, not entirely convinced. "Concerned and anxious? More like trying to paint me as the villain, while she is playing the innocent victim"
He reaches out, trying to ease the tension between us. "I know you're not a villain, Jade. I just think that maybe you can turn it down a little with teasing her."
"So you're choosing her side?"
"I'm not, babe, I'm—" Beck begins, attempting to clarify, but my frustration with him agreeing with Tori adds fuel to the fire.
"You know what, Beck? Maybe you should just go be Tori's knight in shining armor."
I huff, getting up from the sleeping couch. Grabbing my shirt from the floor and putting it back on.
"Where are you going?"
"Home." I tell him.
I need some space from him. I grab my jacket and head towards the door.
Beck and I have a— well, complex relationship so to say. Don't get me wrong; I really love him, but I can't stand the fact that every girl ever is interested in him and he just let's it happen, ignoring the way I feel about it. It's not the first time this had happend. I learned that it's better to just remove myself from the situation when emotions run high.
"Jade don't act so childish, we can—"
I smack the door of his RV shut before he can finish his sentence.
His words stick and add to my anger. Calling me childish... unbelievable this guy!
It's about a thirty minute walk from Beck's to my house, so by the time I walk up the driveway I feel a bit calmer.
I open the front door and for what it seems like it's nice and quiet. However, when I walk past the living room, a voice calls my name in a way I really don't need right now. My heart rate increases and I shut my eyes for a moment. I know exactly what's coming.
