CORDELIA POV

Everything hurts.

We got home at about midnight then took about 2 hours to get settled before going to bed. I slept as late as I could, thankful for medication that took the edge off. Hector had our phones so he could download anything new but thankfully it seemed like the coast was clear. They took the cameras down from my turret and were able to get Lewis in even more trouble.

He told the cops there were 3 small cameras with no audio he hid in my sitting room. Aidan found 5, all identical. Once he communicated that to the Detective shit got worse for my ex best friend. I was surprised they gave him a bond and completely unsurprised he got out of the country anyway. Lewis always had a knack for getting away with whatever he did.

It was a good thing everyone at the estate was used to seeing me in sweats.  The shower I took was far more energy than I had available so I would be staying in cozy clothes as much as possible.  I made sure the t shirt I wore showed the cut on my neck so it could be observed more easily by the cops as well as our Doctor when he was by later.

"Hey," I said softly while still yawning as I made my way into the kitchen at 1 in the afternoon on Wednesday.

"Sweet Cordelia..." Janet approached and pulled me into a gentle hug.  "How did you sleep?"

"The meds I have helped a ton.  Elliot was just waking up when I took my shower so he's getting cleaned up now before joining us.  Aidan said Josh will be here at like 2 with the Detective for a Post Mortem so I wanted to get the day going."

My voice was raspy and I moved slowly, every muscle in my body aching from all we dealt with.

"I have biscuits ready to go into the oven.  Sound good?" she asked with a bright smile.  "Oh, and Alfred picked up fresh squeezed orange juice as well as grapefruit juice earlier so you can get some good vitamins in your system."

I nodded, "That's perfect.  Your biscuits are a favorite of mine."

"Hey, Cordy," Hector said while joining me at the table.  He held up our cell phones and slid them toward me.  "You guys are good to go.  Everything is safe and no new messages from Lewis at this time."

"He has enough to worry about since he lied to the cops and somehow got out of the country as well," I commented.

Aidan peeked into the kitchen with a grin, "Pipsqueak, I always miss you when you're gone."

"Missed you, too, Aidan," I said softly.  Janet brought me a glass of orange juice then grabbed butter and strawberry jam while the biscuits were baking.

"Where's your shadow?" Hector asked with a smirk.

I chuckled, "Taking a shower.  We slept until past noon."

"Good.  You guys need all the rest you can get.  Oh, the Doc is gonna stop by later on to take a look at your neck, Cordy," Aidan mentioned.  "Your Dad is on the phone with him now and asked that he wait until about 6 so we can get through the meeting first.  He will have a Nurse with him that will take blood work so I'll escort him back to the hospital so they can get things run.  That way he will know what medications and fluids you will need."

My head nodded while I stared at my phone, not sure whether I should look at my notifications.

"Cordy, there is nothing from Lewis.  All that I saw on your Instagram were comments on your post from before the Dinner and messages asking if you were okay," Hector spoke softly to reassure me but my stomach ached at the thought of reliving everything.  "Charity sent a couple messages but I know she asked Aidan about you, too."
