ELLIOT POV
The Townsend's family Physician, Doctor Harris, arrived while we were still in the conference room. He had a nurse with him that drew blood then was going to take it to be analyzed immediately. Based on those test results we would know if Cordy needed fluids, antibiotics, different medications, and anything like Magnesium to replenish her body. He had a tetanus shot ready to go and would order antibiotics based on how the blood work looked, as well.
Once that was handled we headed to the kitchen for supper. Doctor Harris knew the family well and had been by each day since the Dinner to check in on George. Josh joined us for dinner while Ethan grilled steak to enjoy with baked potatoes and all the fixings.
It was more relaxing than I expected after such a loaded meeting with the Detective. Cordy ate a baked potato with broccoli and cheese but was moving slowly as the shock wore off. Her stomach was upset in general so I was glad she listened to her body.
Doc got her set up in our room with IV fluids then gave antibiotics through the line along with pain meds after confirming her cut did not need stitches. Since Cordy was anemic anyway the IV would help her body recover more quickly.
When the Nurse arrived with all the necessary medication, he also brought more pain meds and muscle relaxers for both of us. Doc gave me a check up as well and since my shoulder had been sore after the incident he suspected I pulled a muscle.
Cordy grinned when he said that, then commented on how strong I was since she was not exactly a rag doll when we ran to the getaway car.
George visited with us for awhile as Doc got Cordy's vitals checked again while the medication was being administered. Her bedroom had a plush loveseat by the window where he set up his laptop and had a glass of whiskey while keeping us company. She dozed off a bit while I relaxed and scrolled on my phone, replying to messages and texting friends that I had not caught up with in awhile.
Each of us had an outpouring of love and support from our communities. A couple of the guys I met at the Donor Dinner reached out to me on Instagram so it was nice to chat with them a bit now that everything was calming down.
"It would have been easier for us to have a guarded room at the hospital," Cordy said with a yawn after getting a cat nap.
George let out a sigh and shook his head, "Honey, there are still Resistance members out there. All of them made bond, even the attacker. Josh said they have been tracking another dozen members who scattered after the incident so it's going to be a long road."
Her breath released in a rush so I reached over to run my hand up and down her spine. "Have there been more threats?" I asked while Doc started checking George's blood pressure.
"No, but Cordelia is on house arrest for the time being. I won't be leaving unless I have to, either. We have the chance to stay put and will have any employees that live off site escorted home, as well, by our security. Doc, that includes you and your Nurse. Aidan rode along to the hospital and monitored everything with him. We appreciate you going through all the trouble for this house call."
Cordy nodded, then offered a soft smile. "Thank you, Dad. You have done an amazing job building a strong team. We can handle this and maybe one day things will change. For now, though, I will just relax in the comfort our home."
Doc stuck around past midnight, administering all the fluids Cordy needed while the staff peeked in when they had the chance. George let us know Josh was putting in his notice at the Police Department and would be moving in with Milly as soon as possible. They were living with her parents at the moment while waiting for a new apartment to be available but loved the idea of staying at the castle.
