ELLIOT POV
Raya the stylist was hilarious. She arrived around 1 the next day with dark brown hair dye in her kit and was thrilled with how Cordy's hair turned out using box dye while we were on our road trip. We set up in her room and I lounged on the bed with my laptop to keep them company.
It felt comfortable. Raya loved that she got to do a drastic color change and gave Cordy a trim, as well. They discussed style options considering the dress Cordy chose and agreed on a woven braided half up, half down style. It would be time consuming to put together but Raya was excited to play with Cordy's gorgeous hair for such a big event.
By the time we were nearly done, George stopped by to visit and was happy to see all was going well.
"Elliot, can I speak to you?" he asked.
I nodded then stood and followed him out of Cordy's room.
He let out a sigh, "So, Aidan is debating whether I should reach out to Lewis. What do you think?"
"I think it can't hurt if it's in messages so you have a record of everything. At the same time, we can continue prodding him like last night to see how he reacts." I paused, then continued, "George? I need you to know I care about Cordelia. I care a lot."
"Oh, I know. I knew the moment you two laid eyes on one another," he grinned and clapped a hand on my shoulder. "That's part of why I gave you this job. I needed someone I knew would be invested in her as a person. Cordy won't put you in any dangerous situations on purpose but I know if anything happened you'd travel through Hell like Orpheus to find Eurydice. You would fight with every fiber of your being to make sure she was okay... but my Cordy will do the same for you."
George headed back to his office while I stood in the hallway to consider his words.
He's right, of course. George was always right.
Cordelia really would do anything to protect me.
She would die for me.
The concept made my breath catch. I've been in love before a few years back and almost proposed but everything changed when we talked about having a family. She wasn't sure she wanted kids while I really do.
I want a family. I want to be a Dad that coached soccer and watch my kids at their Christmas programs as they badly do motions to songs while barely singing... our little one would be waving and yelling "MAMA! DADDY!" from the stage while the teacher tries to get their attention.
Does Cordy want that?
This conversation needed to happen but I felt like everything has gone into overdrive after last night. Being bait for Lewis in the turret was definitely enjoyable but also brought us closer in a way I did not expect so soon. Then again, I had used every ounce of self control when we were on our road trip so I had no problem finally giving in.
I know I can trust Cordy. I also know there are more conversations to be had so our relationship can develop in a healthy way.
Once we finished meeting with the security team last night, I grabbed my backpack and added a few things I needed like my laptop then brought it to her room. We laid in bed, face to face, and talked for a little bit before falling asleep, but Cordy curled up in my arms while I ran my hand up and down her spine.
I love making her shiver with contact like that.
After our workout this morning I packed more of my clothes while Cordy created space in her closet and dresser. Her suite included a gigantic walk in closet as well as a bathroom with an oversized jet tub.
