CORDELIA POV

We spent the day after the Donor Dinner doing as little as possible after sleeping late.  By the evening I started to scout for a different hotel that would have more amenities.  We found one about an hour from our current location and booked a suite with a full kitchenette and sitting room as well as a king sized bed.

The suite even had a jacuzzi style tub I was excited to use.

"Gerry?" I asked, pulling his attention from channel surfing on the TV.

He turned toward me with a grin, "What's up, Cookie?"

"So today is Sunday, right?  Cause the Donor Dinner was yesterday which was Saturday."

Elliot chuckled and nodded, "That's so good, Cordelia!  Gold Star!"

I tolled my eyes and stuck out my tongue at him, "Shut up, two left feet.  I was thinking we could check in to the new hotel on Tuesday... so that means 2 more nights here between tonight and tomorrow night....right?  I know this is so stupid but my mind is fuzzy so work with me here."

He gave me a warm grin and scooted closer then leaned down and kissed my shoulder.  "You are correct.  I love that idea.  We have the basics we need and can just lay low a bit longer before going on the move."

After checking out the area we saw a Target as well as a Kroger so it was the perfect chance to make a couple stops before checking in to our next hotel.  My Dad and Aidan agreed that was a great plan, though news reports about the billionaire heiress that was gravely inured in a kidnapping attempt were all over social media and television.

I tried to steer clear from the news but it was difficult.

We finished up leftovers for dinner and got the room tidied,  then decided to clean out the car so we could make sure it was a bit less grisly.  The front desk gave us a bottle of counter cleaner, Windex, a roll of paper towels, and a garbage bag after Elliot asked if they had anything we could use to tidy up our car.  With our supplies in tow, we headed outside where our car was parked on a private side of the hotel complex.

That's when reality washed over me.

The stunning deep green corset dress I wore to the Donor Dinner was soaked in my blood.  It was on the backseat folded as well as I could manage last night.  Elliot's tie was on the floor of the backseat and soaked in my blood while I saw streaks on the dashboard and car doors not to mention blood stains on both front seats.

"Cordy... let's go... this can wait..." he tried to coax me away but I shook my head,

"We need to get this stuff in the trunk while we are somewhere inconspicuous."  I met his dark eyes and let out a long sigh, "We can get it as tidy as possible.  I can cover the passenger seat with the hoodie I'm wearing, then get some more clothes and first aid gear at Target tomorrow."

Elliot nodded and continued cleaning, allowing us to make some headway in spite of the mess.

It's no wonder I was nauseous and had a migraine. Of course I lost a ton of blood.  If I had gone to a hospital have no idea if they would have done a transfusion but at the moment all I could do was face things a day at a time.

We worked silently, scrubbing the floor mats and wiping off every surface to make sure blood was no longer streaked on the dashboard.  Once we finished, I threw out our trash in the hotel dumpster then used the garbage bag to hold my dress and the remains of Elliot's tux .  We tucked the bag into the trunk and I folded my hoodie then left it on the passenger seat so everything looked more normal.

Elliot's eyes met mine and I could see the concern pulsing through every ounce of his body.

"Gerry?" I nearly whispered, my hands shaking as I stepped closer to him.  "Let's head back to the room, okay?"
