The rain poured down over the town, the moon being completely covered by the thick grey clouds. The night was calm. Marisa just wanted to open the windows and fall asleep to the sound of the rain.
But instead, she was on Stiles's front porch, sat on a chair as she watched the rain hit the street.
"Marisa?" Stiles asked as he stepped out onto the porch "What r u doing out here? It's freezing" He told her, wrapping his arms around himself. When Marisa turned to look at him, he was able to see her teary eyes and damp face making his face drop
"I don't know how to do this" Marisa sniffled. Stiles knew exactly what she was talking about. "I don't know how I'm supposed to do this, Stiles" she cried.Stiles moved over, taking the seat beside her
"Can u just answer one question, and be honest?" He asked her. Marisa sniffled again, nodding her head"Is it because of him?" Stiles asked her making Marisa's face drop
"No" she lied
"Marisa, I told u not to lie to me" Stiles sighed, shaking his head
"Stiles, I can't be with either of u" Marisa told him, making him look at her again
"Why?" He asked her
"Because I can't lose either of u" Marisa whispered "I need u both in my life, and I can't keep...dragging the two of u on like this. We can't keep doing this..triangle thing that never seems to end. It has to end stiles."
"I don't think it works like that, Marisa"
"It has to" Marisa told him sternly, pleadingly "We have to go back to the way things were before anything ever started between me and the two of u. We have to go back to being friends"
"Marisa..there has never been a moment of our friendship that wasn't based on feelings. For both of us, Scott and I, at least. It's been like this since the two of u got bitten, longer for me" He told her. "There is no..back to before. There is no before. We've always..been this"
"Then we have to find a way...to be normal..friends" Marisa whispered "All of us" She sniffled, looking ahead of her at the rain again. Stiles looked at her for a long moment, his heart breaking
"Fine" he whispered making her look at him again "Whatever u want, Marisa" he told her as he stood up and walked back into the house
"Stiles" Marisa called out before the door shut and never opened again. She turned back to the rain, cringing as tears streamed down her face.
Slowly over time, over the many times in my life that made me believe if I was living in a nightmare, I started to wonder..if maybe it wasn't my life that was the nightmare...but me.
Liam laid in his bed in the dark, his chest raising and lowering quickly as he closed his eyes tightly
"Ur not there. Ur not there" he tried to tell himself. He opened his eyes again, turning his lamp back on and sitting up straight as he looked around his room hurriedly, only to see Marisa climbing through his bedroom window "Marisa?"
"Wow. That was a tricky way up." Marisa spoke through a breath as she looked at his window "And ive climbed my share of houses" She told him before looking at him as he looked at her confused
"What r u doing here?" Liam asked
"I was driving by and I was able to smell ur fear from the street, so naturally..I stopped, climbed ur window, and here I am" she shrugged casually
"I'm fine" Liam sighed, rolling his eyes
"Uh huh" Marisa nodded sarcastically before walking around his bed to where he was lying "Then u wouldn't mind if I..." she spoke, reaching for the lamp
