"So what, ur just gonna avoid him forever?" Cora asked as she followed Marisa through the hallways.
"Pretty much, yep" Marisa nodded
"I don't get why. He said he meant it. U said u still loved him. Why isn't anything happening"
"Because..idk!" Marisa shrugged "How about u? What's going on between u and theo?" She asked her and Cora groaned
"I haven't even spoken to Theo in days. I've been a little preoccupied these last couple of days because of u and ur commitment issues" she snapped slightly
"Says the girl with emotion issues" Marisa snapped back slightly as the two turned the corner only to be faced with Scott
"I gotta talk to u" He told Marisa awkwardly as her heart raced
"Thank god" Cora sighed as she moved to pass him
"Both of u, actually" Scott corrected making Cora stop, furrowing her brows.
"After the stories I heard, hell no." Cora told Scott
"Understandable" he nodded, letting out a breath before the two turned and looked at Marisa for her answer
"Uh..does..does it need to be a team effort?" She asked making Scott's face drop slightly "I uh..I kind of have a lot of homework and since this doesn't seem like a...life or death kind of mission..is it ok if i sit this one out?" She asked, her eyes wondering
"Sure" Scott nodded awkwardly "uh...ill uh...let u know what we find tomorrow"
"Well, call me after, of course" Marisa stopped him before he could walk away "I mean...if u want. And uh..if u need anything too. I'll be there if there is uh..an emergency or whatever"
"Yeah. Ok" Scott nodded out in a whisper
"Ok" Marisa sighed, making a move to walk away when Scott stopped her, lightly grabbing her hand to get her attention
"Hey" he spoke again. Marisa turned to look at him, her heart thumping out of her chest. "Tomorrow.. can we..talk?" He asked her. Marisa took in a breath
"Uh..s..sure" she scrambled out "yeah..I can uh..I can get here early"
"No. I won't make u do that. I know how much u hate that" Scott chuckle, shaking his head "Free period? I can come find u"
"Yea. Uh..sure. It's a date" Marisa nodded making her and Scott's eyes widen "I mean..it's not a date. Why would that be a date?" She chuckled awkwardly "a date during school? That's stupid. No. Not what I meant at all. Uh...I'm gonna go" she told him quickly before turning and hurrying away.
Scott watched her as she speed walked down the hallway, turning the corner quickly
"Well" Cora spoke, getting his attention and making him jump slightly "That was excruciating to whiteness." She sighed before turning and walking away.
Scott nodded awkwardly, turning around and heading the other way.
Cora walked to the end of the hallway, pausing and looking behind them to see Scott turn a corner. She let out a sigh
"A date?" She asked with a chuckle
"Idk. It came out. Idk. It just came out" Marisa rambled as she pushed off of the lockers "come on" Marisa groaned, pulling Cora down the hallway as Cora laughed silently.
Marisa rested her elbow on the library table, her chin in her hand as Cora and Malia sat on the other side of the table, staring down at the Dread Doctors book in front of them.
But when Marisa let out a loud, dramatic sigh, the two looked over at her, Cora giving her a look
"U could have gone with Scott" she pointed out and Marisa crossed her arms, leaning back in the chair with a pout
