I shot awake, in a cold sweat...my heart was thumping rapidly as I felt something warm and wet running down the sides of my cheeks dripping onto my dark bedsheets, and my room lighting was dim thanks to the natural light of the morning sun.
It was that nightmare, that same nightmare that I'd always had...even when I had amnesia.
The Life Form looked over at an unfinished moral that he had been working on in his room...his housemate had started to complain about his room looking depressed and needing a pop of color. He didn't have many hobbies, besides from his partner would call sulking which he was surprisingly good at, but he always had a fondness for painting and drawing, it was a relaxing activity that allowed him to express himself and just one of those hobbies that...he'd...enjoyed.
Wiping away the tears in his eyes he pulled the covers off himself.
"Shadow, You awake?"
"Do you require assistance with your sulking Shadow?"
The black hedgehog only softened his expression...his dull crimson eyes just staring at the door, he didn't respond as he started to gather up some clean clothes, mostly a t-shirt and some clean jeans, after putting on his belt and checking his gun holster, slipping on his jacket and grabbing the emerald he opened the door.
"Ah you are awake good," the bat said with a soft grin on her lips, the large E-Series robot with an omega symbol on the shoulder, was standing off to the side.
"Sensing high traces of dejection" The E-Series Robot noted as its heavy metal body tilted downwards to look at the life form.
The bat only rolled her eyes, she knew that the Meg was only curious about...well Emotions, since it was built for nothing more than just destruction, but some idiot forgot to remove the code for free will she only shifted her gaze over her work partner. "Not going say hello? Or Morning?"
"Why would I say that when you live here...but I will ask what you want, 'cause you asked if I was awake." The life form spoke pushing the bat aside so that he could at least leave the hallway of the apartment.
"Gee sorry that I care about your well-being...look Shadow, I just want to know if you are okay, I mean a lot happened during that invasion. With Eggman attacking and G.U.N soldiers trying to end you." The bat spoke as she followed after the hedgehog.
The Meg stomped to the side to let the two pass, as it was listening in on the conversation.
"I'm fine."
Before the Meg answered with some sort of over-the-top observation answer, the bat only held up her hand to stop it. "You're obviously not fine...Look Shadow whatever it is that you're going through, you know can talk to me right?"
"There is nothing I need to discuss with you Rouge"
The bat only scoffs at the statement, but at the same time, she knows that it is pointless for her to continue pressing him. "Right, Whenever you feel up to it...The Commander had called us to the Headquarters, I can only assume it's for something stupid."
"I'll be there..."
The bat only nodded, as she motioned to the E-Series Meg to follow her out the door, the Meg only looked at the life form before following the bat.
When the loud stomping footsteps had gone silent, leaving the black hedgehog alone...with the only noise being from the coffee maker, that was in the kitchen.
His gaze shifted to the city outside of the window from the living room, he only walked over to the window pressing his hand against the glass, as he just watched the sunshiny down on the different size of buildings

He thought to himself, he only stepped away from the window. Looking down at his hand he only clutched it tightly into a fist.
Why are you still in my thoughts? I guess our connection is something more than I remember it being.
