I hadn't stayed in that apartment after I had talked to Maurice...the moment that I had collected myself from that encounter, was the the moment that Rouge had returned from whatever she was doing, with Omega.

I knew that she had gotten concerned about me after the Invasion, but what she said about my behavior...was that I had gone more distant as if I was just stuck in my bubble. I just didn't seem like myself from the first time that we had met.

I of course didn't say anything, when she mentioned that slight wetness around my muzzle I only pushed her aside...I didn't want to talk about my conversation with him.

"Shadow...if there's seriously something wrong, you know you can talk to me"

The bat called out to her friend, she could see that hurt in his eyes...as well as that cold glare at her, if anything she had been giving him the distance that needed to come to terms with himself after that invasion, and hanging out with that weird alien. She only flinches when the sound of the bedroom door slamming shut just echoed throughout the Apartment Room. She only hung her head low when a sigh escaped her lips.

After that so-called Invasion of those Black Arm Aliens, her partner in combat hadn't been the same...at least from her years of being with him could tell her, he just wasn't the same grump that he always was when she first met her, with the Evil Genius. She only walked over to the dark wood door...she didn't bother with trying to open it, since it was probably for the better to talk to the life form in secret like this than face to face, with a calming breath she opened her mouth.

"Was it that Blue Hedgehog?" She asked the life form, she was rather expecting not to get an answer from the Life Form since this was a touchy subject even when he didn't have a memory about his past.

"He...he came to me, for the first time I got to hold him...but he told me to move on."

The bat only sensed the sorrow in the life form's tone...she didn't understand what the hedgehog was going through, since she never suffered a loss like that before, not since that epic battle twenty years ago with the ARK and the Ultimate Life Form prototype.

"And?" She continued as she slowly sat herself down by the door...her wings folding inwards to her back. As she rested her back against the door, she just wanted to know the full story before she could attempt to help the life form. She knew that he was going through some stuff that was related to his past, now that he had gotten those memories back.

There was silence from the end side of the door, the shadow underneath the door had gotten larger meaning that the life form had decided to sit down as well. "I don't know what he meant by moving on...and I don't know if I can move on."

"Why do you say that?"

"He just completes me...he fills that void that I have inside me and I wish that I'd understood why my heart just aches every time I thought about him, every time that I get flashes of our times together back on the ARK."

There was a slight light-hearted chuckle from the bat when she heard all that. Though she wasn't laughing at him for his innocent misunderstanding. "Shadow...what you are feeling, is loneliness...something that all of us feel when we are lost or missing something important in our lives."

The life form was silent before he looked down at his hands...he still had that feeling of that blue hedgehog's soft skin on his palm, his soft lips just wanting to meet the other's he brought his hand close to his mouth planting a quiet peck on the palm on his hand, where that blue hedgehog's cheek rested against.

Lonely...I do feel lonely without you Maurice.

"Hey would like me to help you finish up that memorial you were painting?"

The life form shifted his gaze over to the wall that had paint buckets resting on some towels, tape that blocked in that section of the wall...and his phone charging resting up against a phone holder with some references and the sketches that he had made for this memorial...he spent at least years on this project and because of his duties of being the Hero of Mobius, and a forced G.U.N agent, his mind hadn't been that focused on that memorial, but on his restored memories of his past, and what this memorial was made for.

The sound of the moment caused the bat to flinch a little since she wasn't expecting the life form to open his door and accept her offer, for a second she could've sworn that she saw some life and a bit of happiness in the life form's crimson gaze...before that sorrowful look came back to his eyes. She reached a hand out placing it on his shoulder.

"You're not alone...anymore Shadow, you have me and everyone else to help you move on. But you got to open up a little so that we can."

The black and red hedgehog only let a soft breath escape his lips...he didn't know if he would ever be ready to move on from this. He and that blue hedgehog had such a strong bond, to the point that they were almost inseparable. He was always right beside the blue hedgehog no matter what...until those soldiers took him away from him. And he was left falling straight down into Mobius.

"I'll try"

The blue hedgehog was running over to the life form, with a small box in his hands...though during his little jog, he could just feel his lungs burning, he hadn't been jogging for long.

"Maurice!"

Before he could fall to his knees to start coughing and gasping for air his body felt suddenly warm and he saw some arms holding onto him. "S-Shadow..." he weakly called out.

"What are you doing running?...you know it's not safe in your condition." The black hedgehog explained.

"I know...I just...wanted to give you something?" The blue hedgehog said as he held out the black box.

The life form was confused by the gesture, but he did recall Gerald telling him that friends oftentimes would give each other gifts as a sign of appreciation or just as a sign of friendship. He saw the allergic-free necklace around the blue hedgehog's neck with the red rose on it. "You didn't have to give me a gift...being around you is enough of a gift for me."

The blue hedgehog only shook his head, as he pulled away from the black hedgehog completely. "Just open it, it's really special."

The life form took the box, he could just see the excited face of the black hedgehog's muzzle, he only started to undo the ribbon that was keeping the box shut, as he removed the lid from the box, he saw a matching necklace inside but with a blue rose instead of a red one. He only pulled the necklace out of the box completely.

"It's just to show that we both complete each other, see." The sickly hedgehog said as he held up the charm of his necklace to the other and they magnetic to each other to create a heart with their stems.

"I...I love it, thank you." The life form said as he pulled his side of the necklace apart so that he could put it on.

The blue hedgehog had his tail wagging, he was grateful that the life form liked his gift.
