"I thought it was a close friend party," Daniel said as soon as we reached the beach house.
"Even me," Manik replied. There were around 150-plus people dancing, and playing on the beach.
"Hey, guys. Welcome. Come let me show you your rooms" Jennifer greeted us. We walked behind her.
"So this is your room, Daniel and Ashley and this is yours," she pointed at us. Our rooms were side by side on the second floor of the house. I entered the room and straight away went towards the balcony, opened it to look at the view.
"Wow, this is so beautiful," I held Manik's hand who back hugged me. I glee in excitement.
"We got the beach view." I chirped. He laughed, kissing my cheek
"So cute."
"Manik we'll either have a coffee date or dinner date over here with this appealing view."
"You are more appealing to me than this," I elbowed him, playfully making him giggle.
"For the first time, Jennifer has done something good." He rested his chin on my shoulder looking at the beach.
"You want to rest for some time?" he asked
"Nope. Let's go down." he nodded. We got ready and left. I wore denim shorts and a sleeveless crop top while Manik wore a vest and shorts.
I sat on the beach, relaxing under the sun while the boys joined a random group to play volleyball. The girls were on the other side of the beach playing some games which involved drinks. I just wanted to relax and have some alone time, so I denied them. I closed my eyes, relaxing on the recliner.
"Hey." I opened my eyes to look at the person. Dave Parker?
"Hey," I said looking at him, straightening my posture.
"What a pleasant surprise," he spoke sitting on the opposite recliner.
"Ya." okay. This is awkward.
"What are you doing here?" he asked
"Jennifer is my boyfriend's friend. She invited us. You?"
"I am the owner,"
"What?" My eyes widened in shock, "Don't get me wrong. I mean. I didn't know you were Jennifer's cousin. Just stunned by the information."
"Ya. Her dad and my mom are siblings."
"Oh,"
"So how long have you guys been dating?" he asked.
"Around 5 months,"
"Don't you think it's a very short time to move in with a person?"
"Excuse me?" I frowned at him.
"No. I was just-"
"I don't need to ask anyone what to do and what not to do, and it was my choice to move in," My reply came across as very rude and blunt but I couldn't help it. I was pissed off. Who gave him the right to comment on my relationship?
"I am sorry. I didn't mean to offend you."
"You know-"
"I am so tired Rose," I looked at Manik, walking towards us. I guess he didn't notice Dave the way he slept on the recliner, settling his head on my lap.
