"Have you discerned it?

The fear of not seeing that one person around whom your world revolves. To not be able to hear their voice ever again. To not be able to touch them or feel their soft and warm flesh. To live a life where you won't see them smile and suddenly the world no longer felt complete but a shattered piece of globe bleeding from edges.

When I saw Mandakini's body in the lonely quad, abandoned, cold and forgotten, I couldn't even begin to describe how I felt.

At first, it was nothing. No sound penetrated my ears. Then I felt the ground beneath my legs slipping. I was so scared, so scared. I feared I was all alone once again. My princess has perished. For whom shall I live now?

In that mere second, I saw flashes of the moments we shared. Moments where we cried, laughed and fought. My princess had many shades, but cowardice wasn't one of them. She was fierce, unforgiving and unyielding. Even when the world was closing on her, she survived. Then how come a swine like Raghuveer dared to kill her? Even if she had died, didn't she deserve a proper funeral or cremation?

They dumped her body in a hole and buried her beneath dirt and debris. They erased her existence so easily and didn't even plan to put her name around.

A nameless grave."

Ambika sobbed as she clenched her fist between her breasts, feeling the thumping of her aching heart.

Gauri looked away with tears brimming down her chin. She couldn't fathom the amount of pain Ambika must have gone through after finding Mandakini's body in the middle of nowhere. She can't imagine losing anyone she loves. The satin thought sent a jolt of shock into the throbbing jewel beating between her lungs.

Ambika roughly wiped her tears and once again levelled the girl in front of her with a fiery gaze.

"The Demigod had told how her soul sought peace. It lingered in the realm of living, unable to cross over due to having unfulfilled wishes and desires. I had to do something for my princess, for she wasn't gone but lost.

I wanted to contact her, bring her to me, tell her how much I loved her and would die serving her. Even if the world had abandoned her, I would always be here. She was my home. My princess. And we were in this together.

The pain she felt will become mine. The tears she shed will drip from my eyes.

But I had no idea how to reach her. Whether to find a medium or an exorcist."

Ambika continues her story and clutches her hair from the scalp. A frustration was visible in her otherwise scary persona.

"Lost and hopeless, I ventured into the forest. It was dark. I was all alone. Even the moon didn't show that night. The stars were obscured by the veil of a night. My clothes were dishevelled, my hair was unkempt, my legs were aching and my throat was dried. I walked for hours until I couldn't anymore and then fell on my knees. The impact was harsh and sent trauma throughout my body. It took less than a second for the floodgates to open, and like a child, I wept for everything stolen.
